electronics question about "portavision" type boxes

Well, just got the little emerson mini in the mail. It looks okay, sounds good (for mono, see later in this post) and the input switches work alright.
Tape player does not work, motor runs but seems like some sort of belt issue I will need to work out later.
The really strange part is that the right speaker does not work, but ONLY when in radio mode. If i flip it to TV i get white noise from both speakers. Flip back to radio and i only hear out of the left speaker. No clue what could be causing that.
Also found that this box DOES have a line in on it. Not exactly sure how its going to work though as there is no "aux" function on the input switch. Ive got Radio, Tape, and TV. Cant seem to find my ipod cable so have not tried that part out yet.
All in all, not a bad little purchase if it does what I want it to do.
The TV is 4" so I think i wont have any problems finding a media player to replace it with.
When I get into the nitty gritty I'll post a DIY thread.
