Funny how my lowly JVC RC-656 dial is 'ripple free'!

Yep, I own two good examples of the 656, have just sold a refurbished one and have another waiting for attention in the "WTF am I going to do with this POS?" pile. All have straight dial backgrounds that will stand up to intimate scrutiny and while we're at it; all 656s have working cassette decks no matter how battered and abused the boxes themselves appear. FM stereo beacons mind you, they're another matter and I tend not to get too down about the half hour it needs to sort that issue.

Would I welcome an M90 into my home though? Of course I would, I'm not 100% soft in the head. I live in hope that I see one in the Salvation Army shop for £20 and am able to beat down the price because of the crinkly dial trouble.

On its back and under bright light, my Victor shows some slight dimples (not ripples - there are no common patterns or origins to them). I never noticed them before and will not be attending any therapy sessions now that I have seen them.

Great topic boys. As any of my fellow Wisconsinite members can tell you...my m90 is as clean and minty as they come. But yes...it has that damn ripple. You don't know how many times I've been gazing at its perfection only to see that unavoidable blemish jump out at me like a pimple on prom night. "Maybe nobody else sees it"..."I'll just tell people they're all like that"..."its just my imagination...its not really there"..etc. it makes me wanna scream sometimes. So glad to hear I'm not the only one who suffers from Chronic Ripple Frustration.

No. No don't say this. I thought oh, this was some idiot inside the unit before me messing around, I'll get a good one from a parts box. CRF is setting in....

I've had my M90s stacked on an end table next to the television set, which just so happens to be the exact spot the lights in the kitchen need to keep constant reminder.
