I've never been able to get good sound out of it. "Good sound" to me requires warm bass at low volume levels.

Has anyone ever managed to get good sound out of one of these. Looks wise they promise so much but is it worth it?

Plastic drivers, wimpy amp, infamous gear in its mech: whats not to love?... Yes, I keep it because of its looks, at least until I get me that Aiwa.

I'm still not sure if I'll do this, but here's a mock-up of how it could look with a TRC-931 woofer and a pair of Alpine SXE-1325S. The catch is that the Alpines are silver and I can't find any 5.25"s in white, except for a pair that are 3ohm (would those work?). What do you think--too mix and match looking? I could just go all-black instead.

If I went black, I really like the look of these JVCs, since they don't look like car speakers. But then the question is if a whizzer is any better than the piezos? Ugh...

Almost anything would be an improvement, as long as the Ohm rating is the same or lower than the originals. (If it's lower, just be careful not to blast it at full volume for extended periods, or you might damage the amp).
