Oh and mark, buy it dude it’s a bargain
OK I've bought it, looks a bit grubby but it sounds amazing. The trim around the tuner looks like it's been replaced with wood 🤔 and a dent in the speaker and cassette door but apart from that I'm well happy. Nothing that can't be sorted easily.

Not a bad job I mean its better than nothing , I owned one of these and I can't remember what the the tuner trim is suppose to look.

The 4 small knobs look like real metal, but the volume knob looks like it's just plastic, is that true? If so, he swapped it and didn't tell you.

Si it wouldn’t hurt to put yourself out and help a dude in need of a door, just remember others have helped you complete boxes......just saying!
Don’t worry Lee I’ve handed out plenty of free stuff, sold boxes super cheap etc...I agree what goes around comes around and I’ve been grateful when people have helped me out. So I don’t think your reprimand is necessary to be frank! As I said it’s all in storage. I’d have to take out a ton of stuff to get to the boxes, it’s stacked to the ceiling, and I ain’t doing that for one deck door lol...happy to give it away but not busting my back to do it.

There isn't one, just plain glass/plastic.
Got one on the way.

Yeah it's plastic, I'm pretty sure they knew nothing about it being replaced. One more little job to sort

I'm definitely not in any sort of hurry or desperately in need. Thought was a long shot anyone actually having a spare.
More than happy to pay for it.

I love these 850's - I have an L model & she's a minter! I hope someone can help with the tuner surround - I've never seen that done before lol! SO easy to work on & such iconic machines!! Just seen one on ebay tonight in quite good order! Enjoy your CSC-850 buddy :-)

No worries. When I move they’ll all be unpacked and sorted so I’ll give you a shout :-)

Yeah I'm not sure why it's been done but I'll strip it tonight and see. I'm guessing they damaged the glass and couldn't get a replacement so bodged it up.

Very poor repair indeed, should be able to restore to original with a replacement window 🙂

Looks like original had been broken and replaced with a poorly fitting piece of perspex which left gaps around the edge.
This was then filled in with the wood trim - weird lol. If the perspex fitted flush, it wouldn't have been needed.

The original tuner glass has a raised area under the tuner knob but as long as you use a good quality lexan you should be OK.

I've bought a tuner glass from ebay along with original Tuner and volume knobs. Pretty much sorted now, painted the grilles and gave it a good clean and service. Could do with a paint job around the tuner but that can wait until later 👍

Now, that's a proper CSC-850. I say leave the marks around the tuner - battle scars.
