I think they look great personally. I've never seen or heard one in person, just here.

I'm very sorry to hear about your Dad. That is incredibly sad news. If you need any support you know we're here for you.

Guys thank you so much for the kind words it really means a lot.
The box was attempted to be delivered today but I am staying with my mam until tomorrow so will have to pick up from my local post office tomorrow. I will post pics and my verdict over the weekend.
I just hope it has survived the long haul from Finland.

Sorry to hear about your Dad. Good luck with the boomer, regardless, take some time to listen to you dads favorite tracks. I promise you he'd be smiling if he were there. ;-)

Sorry for your loss brother. Hopefully a little boombox action will distract your mind a little :-/

I got a 950 from awesome member Blu_Fuz some time ago and it sounds as good as it looks. The LED are so beautiful in action. Any time you hit the street, know that you are rockin' a really classy box!

Really sorry to hear of your father passing, my heart goes out to you.

The Crown is a wonderful looking box. Clean lines, organised and well laid out with good proportions - I hope you'll be pleased with the inevitable hearing test!

I do feel for you, bud, be strong. Know how it feels - lost my Mom a year ago.

As regards this 950 - IMO, one of the best lookers among classic one-piecers.

Guys...Thank you all so much for the kind words, it's so good to be part of such a great community with so many kind people onboard, it restores my faith in humanity.
The 950 seems to have a following here which makes me eager to get my hands on it.

Hey brotha, my deepest sympathies go out to you and your family. I know what you are going through. I lost my father a little over 2 years ago and his passing has forever changed my life. Being an only child and dealing with the emotional aspect along with all of the other responsibilities of his loss while trying to support my mom was (and to a lesser extent continues to be) the most challenging period in my life. You're gonna need all the support you can get. I know it's a bit odd to think of getting support from me or any of the other members that have reached out to you but sometimes getting support from someone outside your immediate circle is exactly what you need. So truly take me up on my offer when I say I'm here for you and hope to hear from you soon.

A year almost to the day that my father passed I got my first boombox and started collecting. But it wasn't the boxes that have gotten me through his loss but rather the meaningful friendships that I have made with members such as Steve (SLO), Dave (Dr. Der) Chris (Lasonic TRC- 920), Manny (mancardo) etc... We all say we "love" our boxes but in reality we LOVE the friendships and other human connections that they have brought us.

Good encouraging words brother. My Mom passed 8.1.14, and been doing what I can to take care of Dad since. Some of us can definitely empathize. :-/
