A member also pointed the Conion doesn't have very good listenability. Your ears get tired.
"one member" is not a deciding factor!
Don't you look at ratings and fall for one bad rating?
They might have 'tired ears" or selective listening habits to begin with.  :w00t:

Airbus A380 is much different from a Dreamliner 787!

I would buy Conion if I find another good one!
After all these boxes sound different and look different with lots of unique features, that is why most people got over 100 in their collection.

Am I to assume then that the Conion C-100f that I linked here is not a good one then?
In good working or an easy fix, with decent cosmetic condition! That is what I meant! Sorry for the confusion I caused.

But again, your question should be "do you have any other VINTAGE 1 piece boomboxes to compare the Conion C100f too, as far as sound quality and loudness, etc." 3 pieces boxes are generally considered to have superior bass and some 3 pieces vintage boxes also has very good full body sound. If you take the all time boombox scale, including new ones, those vintage units are not worth what this seller ask for, it only has good value for collectors. Are you a collector? That should be the first question. If you are not and are just lookign for sound quality for your bucks, then go either Aiwa E9 or DiamondBoxx. I think it's important to mention it as it would not be unfair for newcomers to think they are getting the best value for sound quality out of overpriced vintage material. Truth can be said.
Maybe you should ask yourself this question.. If you suppose not, maybe this site isn't for you..:hmmm:

I'm going to steer this boat in another direction by asking a question about the Korean model vs the Japan (Original).

Are the cases the same? Can you pop the turbo bass reflex sticker out and mount the meters? Does the plastic case have the spots for the tape run indicator lights?

I am aware the electronics are different. I am merely asking if someone with the "guts" or Chassis could get one of these and make it into a C-100 Original

The bass reflex part cannot be pushed out to put VU meters. . It is a a plastic section of the mold so also the place for the tape run. That is all I can remember. One can only cut a hole there for that purpose but unfortunately there is no place on the circuit we can reconnect them because the board and circuit is all different.

Are the amps different between the Korean and Japanese models? Anyone know the code numbers?
Hey Reli! Not only are the amp chips different between the Japanese and Korean models but instead of two amp chips like the Japanese one has, the Korean version only has one. Here it is with the number visible.

I wouldn't worry about the number of amps chips or consider it an indication of output power and performance. Some of the RX series Panasonics have one single amp chip servicing both channels. Just technology moving on I suppose.

But in the case of the Korean C100, cost reductions is probably the motivating factor.

They definitely did undertake some cost cutting measures. But oddly enough, I think the chrome on the Korean version is better than that of its Japanese counterpart. I've compared the chrome to a few Japanese versions and the Korean chrome seems to have held up better and is shinier. Curious to know if any other Korean owners have made a similar observation?

Hmm, couldn't find info on that particular chip on Google. Must not have been used in many other boxes.
