Comments on a custom boombox concept?

If the acrylic is thick enough, you could drill a bunch of swiss-cheese holes for the woofers without worrying about it breaking. But, it seems like you would have to use some rubber insulation pads to make sure it doesn't vibrate.

When I was building the box in SolidWorks I tried the swiss cheese hole idea, and it ended up looking kinda bad. Maybe my holes were too small, but it just looked messy and busy. I'm thinking if the holes were large enough, like the gf-9090 I think (the one with rotary phone-style holes), then it might be ok.

Will have to try it out tonight maybe.
