First major boombox purchase of the year is one my grandmother used to own back in the late-80s. When - after the death of grandfather - she moved in with our family, she gave it to me as she had no use for it. She moved back to her home a year or so later and was reunited with grandfather a couple years after the turn of the century. I still can recall its spot on the buffet in the dining room of their home.
The one she gave me was silver but this is the only one I've seen in months of eBay lurking. $44.09 with shipping.
Picture is from the auction. Will post my own when it arrives.
------------:- Update with photographie -:------------
The new belts arrived today, so in they went! This is one of the more service friendly boxes I've ever worked on...
After tweaking the drive motors - made easier by the access ports in the back - the Toshiba is more or less at a speed even with the rest of my cassette drives.
The wee beastie's new home in 'le chamber de la boomeurs'...
