jvc floyd is our go to guy for names :-)
so lets call it a 'cigegg' or an 'eggar'
and blame it on floyd

my wooden edition is the ' eggnomore ' :-) :-)

First I want to thank Don for such a great review of these crazy looking squids!!

Secondly-Ira you crack me up!! I love your crazy egg disguiser!!
That's a crazy-great idea!!!
I luckily only have about 5-6 eggs in my collection but these are just plain wierd looking so I absolutely commend Ira on this great box disguiser!!

I'm now sticking to all old-school stuff.

These do sound pretty good though listened to Uncle Ed's 707 at the meet.
Just can't get used to the wierd look.
Have a great week-GB. :-) :-O :surf:

GB :agree: They aren't much to look at but the 707 is one of the most boring looking boomers, especially with the top down. I do have to give the 707 props for a great feature set and excellent sound.

they sound like 400 boxes --at least !!
i won a mint one with the manual and remote for 225 -

since then - never seen one actually sell that high-
so - i think you might wait for a real nice one for about 150

Ira, a DT75 sold on ebay a few weeks ago for $300 and it didn't have the remote control. As cool as they are Ira is right, $150 is a fair price for a nice 75 or 707 but if your lucky and patient you can find them on Craigslist every now and then for $25 to $50.

Ya, I agree with Ira and Don. Maybe $400 was a ok price a couple of years ago, but not now. It's just like with houses - if people have to sell now - they will have to take a loss. Or wait until the economy improves, and try then.
I'm curious to see how much the NIB Cobra will sell for - it's at $80 right now

I think i paid round $160 for one of mine mint boxed with remote and manual. I think there worth more than that in good condition cuz im sure one of these would blow away something like an m70.

A brilliant review :w00t: ! Information like this is invaluable and you present it in a professional, easy to understand manner.I'd like to know how these boxes handle EQ.Do they have tone presets or a band style equalizer? For me bass is not as important as with most other collectors.Generally speaking I like rock with an "in your face" sound and need lots of mids and highs. This leads me to believe Id probably prefer the better highs and lack of spacial effects found on the 75.

the 707 has 5 presets, the highs are brought out by the 'clear' setting
i guess the 75 has presets also--

alot less fun and less control than an equalizer.

however , the 707 has a 10 step bass control

plus the surround setting seems to 'know' exactly whats good :-) :-D

The 75 adjusts sound the same as the 707 but the surround on the 707 adds another dimension over the 75.
