Considering the fact that you were directly responsible for me acquiring a 920 a couple months ago, they had your name all over them!blu_fuz said:Eric has a spare door and frame he is sending me.![]()
That top trim is not too bad at all. I've seen some shockers! This is a good find Joe! Have you had one of these before?blu_fuz said:
And what do you think of the sound? Pleasant Sanyo sound but not a real thumperblu_fuz said:Never had one before. I think I heard BBbills at a meet a long time ago but couldn't remember what it sounded like.
In California, your not allowed to take anything from those electronic drop off places. I could't even bring myself to go. If I saw a C100 sitting there, it would be a bad day for the guy working there!blu_fuz said:It should be criminal!
I have thought so many times to go to the local 'electronics dump day' where the garbage company lets people drop off stuff for the electronic trash. I would probably be locked in jail after raiding an event like that hahahaha.
Thanks to Caution for sending me the spare cassette door. Much better than what mine is looking like.
The box looks really good, so maybe a full restoration and you have a stunning original. Or if it is past the tipping point, full custom, with upgraded amp, bluetooth and new speakers.blu_fuz said:If it has room, I would do a speaker upgrade. The cone looks shallow from the front view. I will keep that option open for sure.
More fuel for the custom fire!jimmyjimmy19702010 said:The speakers in these Sanyos (M9994, M9998, 920) are the key to the bass they produce - loose cone style.
I love older Sanyos but if I could change 2 things about them, it would be:
1. Increased line in sensitivity
2. More amp power so that lovely bass could be maintained further up the volume scale!![]()
