I discovered a cool local arcade, and took My Boys into it. They had some cool retro and new games, comic books, action figures and knick knackery. As soon as I started strolling the very first isle, My eyes quickly spotted a Boombox atop one of the arcade games. They even had an 80s game that was designed as a Boombox with a cassette tape on the front, and sliders controls on top. The had a movie poster of 'Say Anything', and even had a couple of matching Lloyd Dobler dolls. I bought both. The arcade's front entrance has a Pac an themed bench. I came back later with My Lasonic TRC-975 to take a couple of pics. The have a cool Dr. WHO phone booth time machine inside with some clothing garb inside. Some of You all probably played a few of these old games back in the 80s. I know I did. Brilliant - but did you get any strange looks from 'those who don't understand' whilst taking all those pics?

Thanks familia. The young Pee Wees there just stared in amazement at the Lasonic. The worker there (lady in her 30s), fell in love with it when I strolled with it inside. Outside, the Downtown shoppers smiled when seeing it, and quite a few said stuff like "That's a cool Boombox". About 200 ft. from this place is another shop with boxes in the store front window. I'll spoken with the store's owner who's friend owns them. I've been stopping by repeatedly over the past 6 months asking if his friend wants to sell the Crown 950. I took the Lasonic into that store and the store owner LOVED it. He said his friend agreed to sell it, and has My number now. I am awaiting his call. Here's the store front window pic.. Damn, that brings back memories of Super-Cade that used to be near my house in 80-81-82.

Amazing places like this still exist.

Way to represent!

That's funny You said that. I now slow down and peer into stores to see if they have any boxes playing on a shelf behind the cash register, etc. You never know. ;-) I spotted this nice little box in a local sandwich shop. Maybe a Sanyo? I like the vertical tuner band. Sanyo.jpg

Some closer pics. Looks to be in pretty good shape. I went inside and saw it had the battery cover. 20151005_130814-1.jpg20151005_130829.jpg20151005_130836-1.jpg20151005_130843.jpg20151005_130851.jpg
