Here is another topic to cover a wider range of what I would like to address:

So, there is sound quality, correct me if I am wrong that's the frequencies reproduction, or in other terms, the closest you can get to a high fidelity sound system with a boombox.

There is the power, the loudness.

And now I would like to address the listenability. I realised some boomboxes with an "inferior" sound can be quite pleasant to listen to all day long. I have a cheap Venturer at home, an unknown brand so cheap I don't even know it if exists for real. Anyway, its sounds "good". I like to listen to it.

I wonder what is the boomboxes you like to listen to all day without getting tired of it?

I agree with you Floyd about the WX1.
I don't own a C100 but I've heard about listening fatigue after a while with those.

I'd also throw in Bombeat RT-9990, RT-S90, Goldstar TSR-800, Panny C100, Jeagam 8000 (modest box)

I can bet RX-7200 @ 7000 are nice all rounders too.

Good topic.

Never heard one in person but people swear by the Sony FH707 and it's mellow sound throughout the power band

sound quality and listenability are the same to me

Telefunken Studio 1 is #1 period. Warm, room-filling bass even at low volume levels, and extremely precise treble.

Best radio i´ve heard so far is Sharp GF-777 followed by Aiwa CA-W10. Best sounding radios i happen to own are Aiwa CS-600 and Panasonic RX-C41L. I have a possibility to listen to Telefunken Studio 1 and Panasonic RX-7200 too, when possible, i´ll do it.

I agree. I LOVE the sounds of My M90 & 5350 but, I have yet to hear anything as fully balanced as the Studio 1. Completely didn't expect to be that impressed from it.

I like to listen to Pioneer SK-95.
It has got a sweet sound and I feel no ear fatigue during long listening.

Panasonic RX6400, Hitachi TRK 9900, Jvc M70. Kinda dig the sound of the Sharp HK 9000 also. And the GE 6035 kicks ass too :-D

So the HK-9000 actually sounds good? The speakers look kinda cheap from the photographs.

It might have something to do with the wood veneer boxes they are in. Sounds different than any plastic housing I have heard.

Any of the big Sony FH 3 way units. Monster power with fantastic clarity and separation. The soundstage is magical. Best sounding multi piece radio I have ever heard. My favorite low volume radio is the Sanyo 9994k. Great for indoor listening at low volumes.

This Toshiba is one of the best sounding 1 piece mid I've heard. That includes the M9994. Such a good all rounder that I wouldn't mind a second one.
