Never had a dedicated space for working on boomboxes so decided it was about time I moved off the kitchen table and had some space to work properly. Been fitting this out the last few days and am pretty pleased so far! Hope you like it :-) image.jpeg

Holy smokes Si,
You're really turning your place into a proper man-cave! You'd better get a pot plant or two or even an orchid to keep your lady's happy!

I have to make do with the kitchen table.

Ha ha don't even have to stick in the pot plants lol, the room was her idea. And this isn't even the boom room, that'll be a whole other big room once the loft room is fitted out. Got 8 boomers, a jukebox, and a 60's one armed bandit in the living room too! She just doesn't care what I do with the house as long as I'm happy which is pretty cool :-)

There's about 4.5 metres of work bench, the right side is standing height and the left is standard desk height depending on what I'm doing. The light stretches to the middle of either bench. The lockers are old police lockers from the local station and are now full of tools and spare parts. Just out of shot is the second jukebox I'm working on :-)

That's a real "proper" repair shop you've got there! I'll send my boxes that need repair right away!

Thanks! I'm going to try and make a bit more money from fixing and selling stuff with a view to dropping a day at work and making up the income with fun stuff instead. Been on a spending spree recently so need to recoup some of that first though lol :-)

Ooh, that's really nice! I would consider selling some internal organs to have a space like that. :-D What is the small, chrome-plated, Cylon looking thing on the floor?

Beauty Si, I am proper jealous at the moment, you have a man cave, a living room full and your fitting out the loft and now this!! Your new lady seems real understanding and undemanding. Could you please just write some notes for the rest of us mortals.....

Lovely room mate, that looks great.

Thanks...yeh I thought a lot about function when deciding the set up as its way more important than how it looks...nice to get it looking cool too tho :-)

Looks just like my shop in the 90's - proper space to work in peace :-)
I like that I can part do a job then not have to pack it all away as I would normally have to do. Sometimes I don't start a repair because it's such hassle getting everything out then having to put it away again half finished. I've got space for several jobs at once :-)

Very nice, very nice indeed and how cool is this? If you cant get around all sides of bench or table, you may find a Turntable (see post here) helpful. A little anti slip material and/or cushioning on one of these makes life just that little bit easier - and you can pick up and move the whole thing complete with BB in situ.

By the way, is your special BB bath in the corner you were standing in, huh?! :-D

Yeh I'm on the lookout for a turntable as I've got 3 one armed bandits to work on and they weigh a frickin ton!

Even I'm not mad enough to plumb in an extra bath lol :-)
