BS because of the ebay stats I have. Nothing like it sold for anywhere near that the 3 years I have been saving blockbuster auction prices. Crazyness. Sure, this one does have the manual and handle tag but they almost paid double the price compared to average just for those things.
It is what it is and I guess it's like all other auctions lately that just defy everything that was before it.

The Blockbuster might be a $150.00 to $175.00. box if it really really minty is FULLY 100% working (IMHO).....

^ I havn't heard a 9191/9494 ever so I can't comment. The only thing I see here is that the buyer paid double for the book and tag. If the 9191 sound is comparable to a blockbuster, then the 9191 gets the win because the the brand and build quality over the blockbuster. That's all I can think of. Sharp is a high end box almost regardless of size or GF edition

with Reli. And it doesn't come down to build quality versus any of the Sharps because the Blockbuster & SCR-8 are both at that level (if not better). Of course the hang-tag and manual make a difference. Door/window/speaker labels, remotes, mics, all those added accessories increase value. You can't compare a dirty, abused, busted cassette deck Blockbuster, to one that's fully functional, clean, and still includes some original accessories. On a chart, yes, they're all the same model. That doesn't mean they're all valued the same.

But those two Sharps are built better than the GE hands down.
I've heard and owned both those Sharps and a GF9696 and I wasn't very impressed. In fact that is why I sold or traded them off.
I suppose people are willing to pay what they think something is worth and just how badly they want a particular model.

In fact I've seen them go for as much as $350 if "minty" and appropriately advertised with nice photos etc.

- pretty much what I am getting at - Either way, to find one like it (if fully working), with book and tag, sure. No book, no tag = $150-$175ish fully working *to me*
