the kaboom with the drum pads is pretty intresting. i wish jvc could have been a little bit braver with it. i mean it was such a great idea but only half fleshed out.
if they would have taken it just on step further and put a simple pattern memory and the possibility of adding new sounds they could have had a real classic electronic musical instrument.

but --because he is a curious and talented dude

he took the entire box apart -
and there is a thread on s2g (somewhere) ??--about 18 months ago -
with several big // clear pictures of all the parts

except it has PURPLE front grills -!!!

it looks just like your 100 with the 2 front grills the same goofy color

gordie, that grill should pop right out if you carefully push on it from the opposite side. Which means you'll have to take the box appart to do it. I had the same problem with one grill on my kaboom and this fixed it almost good as new.

yup --i think that was the only series that ever has mid & treble controls - they are terrific to use -

all the later models only have the electronic pre-sets --which do have some effects -
but not as cool or useful

Ira that's the biggest reason I would like to add that model to my stable.

don --they are not rare at all -
say - about 10 per year on ebay -
and usually not as much $$ as the newer models --

i had passed over about 20 ebay ones -
as i thought they were stubby/ugly compared to the next series

but jaetee has his at the first florida meet -
we all got to like the extra controls -

and by luck --there was one on ebay -
sitting there all week with little interest --

so i won it - late - when i got home-
on the same saturday when jeatee showed it
