radio shack sells the connectors --
i forget their model #
but you will see then on their wall display :-)
...are they banana connectors? and can you put the positive and negative wire into 1 connector? I hope these aren't dumb questions but I had never used this type of connector...if you could post a pic of the speaker wire and connector that would be great...

I Am Legend
YES -
-its a tight and careful fit (so the wires dont touch each other)
but you can do it--

i dont have pictures --because my big KLH speakers already came with the
wired plug.

My choice-Panasonic RX-CT800 (detachable speakers) can use any speaker as long as the impedance/ohm value isn't too high.

The impendance/ohm rating on this boombox is 2.7/8 ohm

For instance I could disconnect one of the Panasonic speakers and then hook up one of the speakers from my Sharp GX-CD130 to it.

Today it's the JVC PC W 300LD. Says on the back that the "minimum" impedence is 6 ohms. I took some old Sansui S-300's and I've been trying to blow them up  (with no luck, I might add.) This boomer loves 8 ohms...clear & undistorted. :-D

I just picked up some Radio Shack Minimus 7 clones the Teac LS-X7 for 5 bucks.
I'm gonna mess around with the crossovers as these speakers are known to be sleepers.
All of my boxes should be able to push them pretty good. :-)

Cerwin Vega VE-12's have big time efficiency to them and are easy to push 6 ohm nice choice. My old Infinity Sm150's have like a 102 or 103 db efficiency to them and can be pushed with low watts. ( especailly compaired to my Carver amazing originals at 84 DB!! and dip to 1 ohm)

The Realistic min 7 are fantastic sounding speakers for there size. If you can find the ones in the wood case, you will get even better sound!! many people do upgrade the crossovers and put them with a sub woofer with surprising results. Definitely a sleeper mini speaker!!
