I was thinking of hooking one up in my bedroom to these speakers!
Have a good one-GB. :-) :surf:

i have 2 matching pairs of the really old apm's with the original speaker stands ,the flat honeycomb diaphram woofers and tweeters are incredible sounding, just about as good as it gets.

I agree with JVC Floyd, I have the PC-550JW and the original speakers sux for bass, But when I connected a pair of Pioneer 903 and these 903 have a 15 inch woofer and the JVC drove the Pioneers like butter :-D

Don't know the answer to this yet but will enjoy finding out.

I have a pair of Cerwin Vega VE-12's that can cause subsidence for a mile around!

I didn't try this (yet)
Very interesting topic though.
I don't think i can make my boxes sound any better.
The only speakers i own are a pair of crap JBL speakers :annoyed:

What is the output in watts of the boxes you guys are mentioning? Most of mine are 10 watts or less and don't power larger sets of speakers well. Also, are your boomers designed to use 8 ohm floor speakers, also? :hmmm:

If there are units out there that power low-efficiency, high-wattage, 8 ohm floor speakers as extention speakers, then I have some new grails to get!

Well, though a great topic...the question really is...

"What are the best speakers to run externally from a boombox?"

The key is the efficiency of the speakers themselves. If you would like I can get into the specifics. :-D

...what type of speaker connectors do you use to connect to the external speaker plug?? All my speakers have dual (positive/negative) exposed wires...

I think I know what you mean...high-efficiency, 4 to 8 ohm speakers with a compatable wattage rating would be ideal. Right ? :hmmm:
