I saw Killah Priest (one of the many Wu Tang posse/performers) on Monday of all days. Small show but the crowd was right. Crowd is one of the key elements to a hip hop show's success.
Good times with some good friends, beatboxin' and freestylin', drinkin and :weed:
Then I had to wake up early to a hangover and do the work thing.
But it's all good.
I'm gonna see Ghostface in Ann Arbor next week so that should be dope.

Reminds me of a Heavyweight Dub Champion show I went to in a small Santa Cruz venue in California back in 2005. I was visiting some friends. No beatboxin' or freestylin'.... but plenty of the other.. LOL!

once i participated in a rap freestyle contest.

i freestyled a bit. was fun. i did it just to prop the crowd.

and i was an MC too, two years ago, part of my musician work.

i am not bad... :)

even though i have always been more of a house head...

lots of true house clubbing...

hard core.

Yea, that's me... hardcore house head all the way... I've been DJ'ing out over a decade. It never gets old... :-D

But, I really enjoy good live performances by real musicians, too...

My wife and I went to see Ozomatli, a couple years ago at a club in Baltimore. Not being able to smoke at club is pretty lame.

Woodstock 94 was pretty crazy, returned for the 99 diaster. (I left before the rioting took place.)

Seen Primus many many times, but this particular show the second set they did Pink Floyd's Animals album in entirity. That was pretty intense.

Beastie Boys in Brooklyn at McCaren Park Pool. (Only show they played in Brooklyn ever, also was outdoors)

Brooklyn Hip Hop Festival some years ago. (Chubb Rock, Black Sheep, Buckshot, Fat Joe, and Ghostface Killah. Its a must to see Ghostface live, best live Wu show IMO, even better than Method Man I know I'm forgetting more names that played this event. Also was outdoors)

MF Doom in Times Square.

I can go on and on about the tons of shows. I'll just run a list of who I've seen live.

Slayer, Metalica, Rage Against The Machine, Primus, Cypress Hill, Anthrax, Queensryche, Wu Tang, Beastie Boys, Bush, Stone Temple Piolets, Aerosmith, Guns And Roses (1995), Skid Row, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Live, Iron Maiden, Velvet Revolver, Ozzy, Black Sabbath, Pantera, Manson, Limp Bizkit, Pharcyde, Raekwon, Tool, NIN, Rollins band, No Redeeming Social Value, Body Count,.....and thats not even all of it ...i know I'm leaving out like another 50 acts.

Lat night went to Jam Master Jay tribute party for a little while. It wasn't exactly a concert but just a DJ show at a local bar.
It was a great time lots of remixes and of course the classics.
In tribute I rocked the shells laceless and took my M70 with a couple RUN DMC tapes.
Like a dummy I didnt take the camera to the show. Lots of people were dressed up in their halloween costumes. It was cool.
RIP JAM MASTER JAY - Goddamn that DJ made my day!!!

This sucks, Today I forgot about a show that I was supposed to go to tonight. Digital Underground at a small venue.
I made other plans so I think i'll have to pass. :bang:
I told my bud to call me durring the week to remind me. He calls a friend of mine instead, to tell me. And you know how that goes.
Oh well GhostFace on monday!
:dj-party:
