Back on the old Goldstar tsr 800 tackling the final few % of problems. One thing that always bugged the hell out of me was the right channel down in volume by a quarter when the balance control was mid-point. Using a 400hz cal tape and my multimeter i was able to find the outputs on L & R preamp just before they reached the volume control differed by about 3mV, enough to cause a big imbalance after the power amp stage. There's 4 resistors in the path from preamp (out) till the volume pot in each channel, so no wonder there's a mismatch by the end. Anyway, wired in a 100k res in parallel with the ultimate resistor in the chain (R352 for info), and now we have matching voltages going into l&r power amp inputs and FAT SOUND. New mod is the blue resistor loop in the pic.IMG_20240426_160314_8.jpg
