Real deal.... yes, but there is NO evedence about Any harm from short term exposure
The paperwork that comes with the transmitter straight up says not so be in the same room with it.
Well, If I produced anything like it, I would also put several things like that on it. Just to prevent someone to sue me for something I can not disprove. Just because.
There are plenty examples that we can not even detect the effects of radio. Hell, my brother in law works with radio transimtters for 15 years, and so far so good. My collegues and I work everyday near three 15 000W transmitters. There is still no evidence that it is causing cancer. Stories, scares, FUD...yes. I am not saying that you should keep the transmitter or antenna in you hand/pocket while it is working, but you do that anyway (mobile phones). Have in mind, mobile phones work with higher freqs, and that makes them capable of carrying over more energy. Did you see any such warning on any/your phone (do not keep in hand/pocket, close to your head)? Yeah, I know that state of California suggested people should not carry the mobile phones in their pockets and hands, but what do we do?
7W in FM (80-108 MHz) is a lot, wether that is total input power or power at the antenna (I wonder what SWR that antenna has got?). Hand-held Ham radios (144MHz) with 2W can be heard for 100km/60miles if location is permiting. On the other hand, world record for wifi link (that's 0.02W on 2.4GHz) is like 250km or so...
I'll let you another secret. Every last one of use have used 2000 W transmiter in your hand, at least once or twice a week for years. Those 2W from mobile phones does not look so bad now?
Radio transmitters are not bad for you, except that they do heat up (not causing cancer). My microwave oven heats things also, and I do not want to stick my "self-exam-object" in
.
By the way,
I want one stereo FM transmitter! Keep posting about your experience with them, please. What bad ones have you got/bought from eBay? Help us not to make same mistake... Could someone post some images of the insides of their FM transimtters?
That's good information right there. Not sure I would have the transmitter on the night stand next to my bed, but glad to know it's safe to have in the house!

I am on the ground floor so very limited with what I can use it for...........
These things work very well BUT they emit loads of spurious harmonics & wipe out the FM band to my whole close even just from my bedroom indoors!! They are powerful for sure & a decent antenna up high would see a sharp increase in range no question......I have played with & indeed bought many FM transmitters since 1981!
This one will upset your neighbours & god knows what else but boy are they powerful & deliver excellent FM stereo with great dynamic range & stereo separation - illegal in the UK of course but a hell of a lot of fun!!
No one round here seems to use FM analogue except for in cars so it's possible to enjoy any boomer out in the garden on your chosen frequency - I love them! & they are cheap!!
Not looked for one recently but am sure you can find one on eBay - Never power up without the antenna connected, this will result in instant destruction of the output power stage & effectively brick the transmitter!
Oh & the harmonics & dirty spurious emissions - My 2.1 bedroom speaker system picks up garbled audio (but discernible) with it's left & right speaker wires
So if you're a little bit scared of the illegality of this model then avoid it.....BUT I doubt it would in reality bother anyone just stay away from TV aerials, satellite is unaffected here & freeview is ok but I do use filtering & a costly distribution aerial amplifier - am not sure about a market quality freeview receiver & supermarket telly - I suspect there may be nasty interference!!
As for being near the transmitter - I'd say that is just nonsense, I sat next to it for hours once while streaming music & testing several radios from close proximity to down the road where signal still blew the tuning led bar off the scale! lol There's a 15 watt version too if you can stretch to one - someone needs to get up high & try the range out.....as I say the sound is superb, just consider others that may suffer problems with the harmonics.....cheap electronics = poor shielding & concentration of the chosen transmit frequency
Your totally right about the harmonics and feed back. Seems to be, if your further away the better to get some good reception.

Exactly...
I have seen and made a bunch of transmitters (ham radios). All good ones had sensible power ratings and good construsction. Hence need fos photos. Any success stories are nice also!
As far as legality goes, Italy is famous for lax legal terms for FM and TV. Trust me, I lived in Croatia close to Italy, and spent some time in Slovenia and ... I must say, Lasonic/Chris is so right. They step one over another, and especially love to step on frequency of our stations (Slovenia and Croatia are close to Italy). I know that this happens even now, and I do find this interesting since the EU regulations do tend to be strict.
Unfortunately, based on my past experience, I strongly believe that customs would stop shipment of above mentioned transmitter in my country.
That has to suck to turn on your radio and only get Italian Sugar Pop music!
It's nice to be able to broadcast my own station with out any issue from the government (here in Italy) and it's fine until you try to drive and all the stations fade in and out.
From what I have read about having a pirate radio station in the US is, it's the Christian stations that will go after you and they make up a HUGE percentage of the US market. If you step on one of their stations they call in the fed's fast (or so I have read).
I haven't purchased many of the little transmitters. I tried two and said screw it and got this one. If I was going to be staying in Italy, I get enough equipment to where you COULD hear me in Croatia!
