Yuck
I thought that Rob guy visited here. And he evolved his bbx into that?

To be fair, he seems like a modest, humble guy. And just all around more pleasant to do business with. And I base that off his comments I've read on YouTube channels like Javi's Boom Tech.

But c'mon. I can't spend money on that thing.

To be fair, I don't think we're the target market for these new models.

Yeah I imagine it's intended for a younger crowd -- college and younger. I think the styling will work for them. True, it's not a "classic" design, but it looks a lot better than any of those "job site" radios or those lame JBL tubes that look like neck pillows.

If they succeed in getting this into brick-and-mortar stores, that would be a big breakthrough. Huge name recognition could be gained.

Tbh, I'm not a fan of the 30 lbs original Bumpboxx either  especially with that cheesy gargantuan name emblazoned across that fake spectrum analyzer. Or the net on the front. Or the controls on the side. But I digress. :-/ I respect that it's flashy! :-D

Imo, Melly has one of the best looking ones with the changes he's made.

Never got one and unless there are some serious changes, I don't suppose I ever will. For one, that handle just looks too much like a cheap bathroom towell bar from the '70's the kind you find in rentals. Secondly, lack of a quality tuner is a deal breaker for me because to me, that isn't a boombox. If I can't see where I'm tuning, it's too much trouble. As for side controls, like BMoney says.... why can't the controls just be mounted like a "normal" boombox where one can access it from the front or top? OK, I know the answer but that doesn't mean I like it. Now, if one of the members here made this in their garage, then I'd be heaping tons of praise, but this is being marketed to the retail crowd; it shouldn't look home made. These critiques are my own personal opinions of course. Obviously, there are enough customers out there that like this thing like it is, but these types of devices aren't what I started collecting and I'm too old school and stubborn apparently to change, lol. These aren't digs, merely saying that this (and these types of creations) just aren't my cup of tea.

Yeah, I was just being totally honest. I love boomboxes. I fully support what they're doing. There's just some weird quirks that keep me from buying.

I've visited their website 3 days in a row to look at this:

I want it so bad. The money is literally about to jump out of my pocket. And I can't pull the trigger because of that handle, cargo net, and Bumpboxx graphic.

But also like I said before, total respect for Rob (the CEO). The guy is a class act on social media and being a part of this community is huge! I just wish he'd make something I like! :bang:

I think this looks great. I'm in.

I like a box that I can carry around, the original was just too big. This looks like I can carry it around just like my M70. I wouldn't be afraid of hitting anything like small children, pets or Cadillacs like with the freestyle.

It probably has the same power as the original. Doesn't have to be as loud but I bet it hits hard.

Not sure if this is going to be in stereo, not sure if those are tweets in the speaker grills. Not sure if I like the light up speakers [if they do light up]. Hope the logo gets brighter with the beat, that would be cool.

If this is the final, hurry and take my money. I want to be the first on my block to carry one of these.

Wouldn't consider any of them without being at least stereo and with a cassette deck but at least Rob and his gang are trying...good luck to them i say

Why not ask for 8 track tapes too? I know it would be "cool" to have cassettes, but truthfully it doesn't bring anything to a modern box. Card reader, Bluetooth and analog jack are standards today, though the jack will probably go away first.

I think having a good tuner would be more important than a cassette player recorder. Recording to a card works for me.

I agree, a tuner is important because then you can use an FM transmitter across your entire collection.

Also don't forget one of the best things about Bumpboxx is the ability to wrap it with any design you create. This is the best one I've seen so far:

Nobody makes quality decks anymore, so if Rob did add one it would probably have to be something kinda crummy to stay affordable.

I probably won't get one anyway Eric but at least Rob and the gang are keeping the boombox alive...im happy enough with boxes like my m90's and the like...i wonder why Rob just didn't call them the Monoboxx instead of the bumpbox haha :-)
