DUDE, Fantastic Mods! Congrats on winning the raffle.

Just by looking at this, the simple mod to the handle improves the way this thing looks dramatically. Another 10% "Old School" added!

I like your take on moving the net to the back as opposed to just ditching it. I wasn't a real big fan of the net, but it does have a purpose.

Also that old school steering wheel wrap...oh man, that handle is a hand killer, that has to help allot!

It looks like it belongs at the local skate park now!

All the mods people have been doing are inspiring....great work

Keith, that did turn out awesome! Maybe beef up the bolt size holding the handle to the box now that it rotates and add some big washers inside. I like the net on the back too. I wish I had the Freestyle box instead of the SE because I want to stick decals on mine but the sprayed on texture will not let the stickers 'stick'.

I agree about the way the SE version is. Kinda beat to add stickers or wrap now. I just noticed how the handle freely moves. I like that idea.

I still don't know what to think of the Bumpboxx. Not to say that I wouldn't mind owning one, but I would probably spend my money elsewhere first.

Also, I am not a big fan of having stickers on a boombox. But in this case, you almost have to just to give it a little "Street cred". I think it looks really good.

I especially like what you did with the handle. It no longer looks like the towel bar in grandma's bathroom! The only thing I can think to add would be an image of a cassette deck on the ipod screen. Even better if it looks like tape reels are moving.

Overall, I do like what you did here. Great job on the mod. Take care!

(Sincerely, the new guy that can't keep his opinions to himself) :-D

Wow. I wasn't a fan of stickers on boomers til now. Gives it your own personal flavor and some character. Love it, Mistahkeith! I think these were meant to be personalized. Love the handle too.

I should have known somebody would have thought of a cassette playing on the tablet screen. I also found it on earlier posts in this forum.

My new board came in for my bumpboxx as well as a gift from the boys at the warehouse, thank you  . Hopefully I can get the board and new battery in and see if the right side comes back to life and can hold a charge. Fingers crossed!!

With the help of Dr Der (thanks Dave) and the Bumpboxx facility, I was able to get my Freestyle SE blasting again. Unfortunately (but fortunately) I just had to sell it BUT only to stick the money right into buying the new V3!!!

In my quest to fill this MEGA BLASTER void in my life, the SE and the OG Freestyles had some quirks that I didn't want to possibly deal with again. Hopefully the V3's new digital amp and different charging setup are more robust even for the light use I gave my previous ones.

I like some of the physical changes to the V3 as well and I went back to a vinyl wrapped box so I can walk the streets without the tuff coating sanding through my clothes HAHAHAHA, maybe no one else is really walking around with these except me!

Fingers crossed it arrives ready to rock!

Actually it still isn't stereo. It is 'simulated stereo' which is this: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Duophonic

It is just a delay and more like an echo effect.

I saw the style of their stereo box store bumpboxx and I didn't really like it. So to stick with this style I will only be getting simulated stereo.

WTF? Never heard about that one. Is it just on their FB page? Are you sure it's not just a concept?

I saw it on their Bumpboxx One Family facebook page. https://www.facebook.com/groups/135053653753036/

"You are hearing it here first. Working on a smaller, lighter unit. 3 sizes. 6", 8", 10" woofers. Hoping to release on Black Friday. Stay tuned for details and specs.
"

They will have 3 available in box stores.

We do have retail pricing on these.

2 x 6" woofer $199

2 x 8" woofer $249

2 x 10" woofer $299

The prices are cheap enough to satisfy the kiddies. They look much more sophsticated design wise than the simple rectangular box of the Freestyle. Having the tweeters stacked in the middle actually makes it look like a mono device!

They're drifting away from the 'street blaster' to a more modern, standard style BT speaker look with the 'stereo models'. Probably a wise move when you're going for the retail box store style of customer.IMG_4551.PNG

I asked one of my kids what she thought. Her exact words were 'It looks like it's from a Lego Movie' :-)

I agree, it is a perfect design for box stores but to me if it doesn't have an old school blaster configuration it really doesn't fit what I want.

There is so much competition in the stores that this style they came up with might blend in too much. Either way, I just need this V3 to keep playing.

You're a very patient and understanding man Joe. Fingers crossed this one goes the distance. :-)
