Anyone purchase the BUMPBOXX?

More power is always appreciated! :-)

But if you're going to have things like an FM tuner, you HAVE to make sure it all works properly. I never bothered with a tuner on my boxes as I couldn't get those tuners that Bumpboxx uses to work right.

I'd gladly do without the swag and the wireless mic and all that and get a better built and properly tuned and sealed reflex box with a higher quality stereo amp and tuner etc.

But that's just me.

I could build a box with 250 watts RMS x 2 running on a high voltage DC power supply tomorrow but keep in mind that three times the RMS power doesn't equal 3 times louder. Regardless of what output power you have, speaker sensitivity is king!!

It sounds like Rob is going for the title of 'most powerful box' again - I don't think the majority of people want the Bumpboxx to be substantially louder, they just want better sound and build quality and input options that work and amps that don't die. I think many people want a more polished finish too, like the DJ Tech unit we all love. :-)

Who knows, maybe that's exactly what Rob has planned.

I will add that I have never heard a Bumpboxx. I base my humble opinion on feedback provided my Amazon.com customers and by members here who own Bumpboxes.

Again, just my humble opinion. :-)

James.... :-)

I can't tell you how many time people have said that same thing. The reference to the DJ Tech. Who ever designed that was heading in the right direction.

I agree with you Jimmy, these things just don't need more power or to be louder. I don't think the construction materials they are using would handle much more beating/excursion from a more-banging speaker anyway.

They just need to refine the features they are supposed to have already and keep it priced right around where they are at ($350-$500). Get that FM tuner locked down and working. Bring true stereo sound into the equation even if it sacrifices a few DBs. Maybe try to find or outsource a component package that makes the guts repairable instead of a paperweight when a board decides to go on the frits. These are expensive units, they should last many years with moderate use and work as advertised.

I disagree with Chris on the 'stereo' sound perception of the unit. I have so many songs on my playlist that on every other blaster I play them on, there is a lot of swinging of the sound from side to side which is a joy for my ears. I had played all these songs on my Bumpboxx and it really made me want to skip the songs or turn the box off because I was just disappointed that something as simple as 'stereo' sound couldn't be offered with this monster. I knew it was mono when I bought it, but I thought the left and right separations would still hold together as one sound played through their mono configuration.

Right now I am almost to the point of pulling the side panel and wiring out of my bumpboxx and inserting a single DIN 12v digital media player for your car into the side of the box. It will give me lots of similar features but it will be stereo, have working FM, Bluetooth receiving, Bluetooth PHONE so I can chat with someone through my bumpboxx (this is kind of awesome to think about), has RCA inputs and 3.5mm input, USB/jump drive reader, remote, still be rechargeable (unsure of actual play time), but I will lose the wireless mic and recording to usb/SD card.

Well, as I said, it's a matter of personal taste. I don't know what Rob has in store for the future, I know there are quite a few systems on the drawing board, including full stereo machines of various sizes. He is expanding, listening to this forum and making the adjustments. It does take time to go from idea to the production floor since the first ones came out.

I have seen pictures of the super beast and it is not just another of the same thing. Its not him putting more power in the same box. I have seen some other designs as well. I think he's going to be able to cover his bases. And again, if it's not your cup of tea, then it's just not for you.

Be interested in seeing your mods. I think it's been really cool that since the first person bought a Bumpboxx they started modding them. I hope that continues.

The Bumpboxx is my 'taste', my 'jam', my 'style'! - the big, loud, statement blaster that is just insane to most normal folk!

This appeals to a lot of us and the public, just dial in the product's features and let the quality sell it's self. :breakdance: The customer service is top notch, which is kind of rare these days. They treat you like family.

I do agree that the DJ Tech keeps coming up for a lot of great things going for them. It is strange that it was limited production with what seemed to be decent build quality, size, and sound. Oh well, grab one when you can! :tease:

IMO, I think DJ Tech has come closer to the classic design than anything we have seen. Although I have not spent any time with it other than when Reli unboxed it in Vegas I still remember those silky smooth fader/sliders    OH GAWD if all the sliders on all my boxes felt like that I would ******

Question regarding the issues you have had with your Bumpboxx, you just mentioned you have contacted their customer service, but have you reached out to DrDer? He is now running their customer service for the so cal area and he know's what the common issues/fixes are. He might be able to help you.

I know from talking with Rob that they are running headlong at these issues, radio reception, amp problems, ect. I know they have completely moved the factory and have seriously improved their return numbers.

Like anything from cell phones to cars, the "Early Adapters" like your self, who bravely chunk down a stack of cash become the testers and there are always growing pains. I hope Rob sticks with it and we can start seeing the "Real" blasters we all have been dreaming of for the last 10 years.

The inexplicable thing for me was the whole undisclosed nature of the whole Mono thing!? Why would you have left and right drivers and tweeters and not offer a stereo output?

And to top it off, even to this day, none of the promotional fluff makes any mention of the fact that it's a huge 4 way Mono speaker? Punters just have to discover this fact themselves.

Bring on their new offerings. I want to see these guys succeed as much as anyone else. It forces their competition to lift their game and we all know how good competition is!! :-)

I find it rather deceptive by leaving this off their site as well. I was pretty frustrated when I got mine and turned it on. It's a giant PA system that looks like boombox, sorry.

I'm with ya JJ, seeing Bumpboxx and Diamondboxx go head to head is like watching Mustang vs Camaro and Cuda vs Chevelle. Now you have Javi's Boom Tech Youtube channel and many others documenting all these systems. If this goes on long enough, bigger companies are going to have to answer to it. Big players that have been pushing their sh@t eggs, footballs and tubes for years with no results.

I say bring it B@tches! LETS GO!

Agree with comments and improvements required, think in the 70's/80's when large corporations had the capacity to test, tweak, test, and get to beta before deciding to test further with products in employee homes, different world. The bumpboxx team seem to have values and a philosophy which is rare. Frustrations are good to make something better. Lets keep supporting these good folks and providing the best feedback like we always do.

Having heard one myself this weekend and tested it extensively i have to say, mono or not it sounds freaking incredible. I mean really good, so loud, no distortion but nice at low level to.

If i can work it out i am having one no question.
