A pic of my 2 Bumpboxxes...one with mods. The new one will be modded as well.

A few mods....but many more to come.

A byproduct of the use of deep set horn tweeters is the highly directional sound output. Choking the hole with more restrictions will cause further narrowing of the tweeter sound output. Seeing that the Freestyle also uses the tweeter for the mids, this possible issue is worth considering. :-)

What issue is worth considering? Getting rid of the horns?

No, the horns are fine. But modding them in such way that further reduces the size of the hole will narrow the 'beam' of sound output. So when you're listening off axis, the tweeter/mids output will be audibly reduced.

Horns are used to boost output when listening straight on. There is only so much actual sound output being produced like using a jet nozzle on a garden hose so focusing too much output in a very narrow beam of sound will tend to make it sound flat when lisening anywhere but directly in front of the unit.

The Bumpboxx has no shortage of tweeter output. WAY more than most boxes.
Read above post. We're talking about possible modding of the tweeters by placing chrome rings etc inside the hole for cosmetic reasons. I'm assuming this mod is just for ideas sake:

If a simple grill is placed over the horn (without any ring) then the reduction of output will be minimal so its all good. :-)

I have played my modded Bumpboxx side by side with my unmodded one and trust me there is no discernible difference in sound with the tweeter grill. Those horns scream! Appreciate the input but I'm keeping them...

I see they just did a custom wrap and the image was a Lasonic 920. And there was a Louis Viton pattern wrap and a few others floating around. Custom wrap boxes start at $695 if you have the coin to spend.

Here are 2 flip down door ideas I sketched up.

The green area would be a black powder coated steel steel door hinged at the bottom. The blue area would be frosted plexi glass and back lit from inside the pocket using a USB powered LED.

No. These images will be plasma cut from steel. The blue areas will be where the metal will be removed. Then I will attach a piece of frosted plexi glass to the inside of the door.

I also drew this up for my VU meter panel I will cut out in steel and powder coat it black. Remove the bumpboxx plexi and put this Boomboxery plate in. The red area in the picture will be black and the black area will be where the bumpboxx VU meters shine through.

Here is an example of frosted plexi behind a steel panel and LED backlight. I made this sign for a local restaurant:

Yeah, or even attach it to the flat spot of the wood box that this net is screwed to and shine the LED strip forward.
