Personally I've always thought graffiti to be art. Factory graphics on the other hand are industrial design. I'd like to see different decals with more of a "techie" design to them which is more of what you'd expect to see on a store shelf. Lasonic could also produce versions without the decals to give an artist a blank canvas to work with. Though graffiti is usually found where everyone can see it,it is personal art. I just can't see it being mass produced.
Recently I wrote Lasonic suggesting the idea of replacement graphics to be sold separately. This would allow an i931 owner to give their box a new look after having lived with it for a while.
Some time ago I also submitted the suggestion that the Lasonic site should have a "build a box" feature much like the feature found on many automotive websites for putting together the exact car you require. My reasoning was that this would save Lasonic money as they would not have to pre-make versions that might not sell ( think Rap-Up)
. In that case they're stuck with unsellable boxes as opposed to unsellable decals. This would also be a lot of fun for customers. Unfortunately I think Lasonic thought I meant having these graphics applied at the factory. My intent was for them to offer this customization as only available by mail order/internet sales. These would be applied by the company's people stateside shipping the i931 to customers.Alternately, they could offer to send the box 'neckit with the preferred graphics slipped into the boomers shipping carton. That way customers could apply them. I don't remember a reply to this suggestion.
Sometimes I wonder if they read suggestions that are not over a few lines very carefully. I know they must be busy but I think these ideas would really give a boost the sales of i931s. They might even grow from being just a niche market item to becoming "all the rage".
