incredible 838 -

gordie --you really need to bring a camera -
to document all these amazing trips -

each one -becomes a part of boombox history-
except - w/o pictures -
its only in your vague memory.

imagine - if you had pictures of every trip
in your years of box acquisitions -
thats a BOOK!!!!

Gordie I knew you couldn't stay dry for long, so much for your self impossed ban.

Awesome to see you saving more of these gems and braving the harsh weather to do it, now we need pics.

That's the best pic I've seen of the white I931 and I'm liking it, very cool.

So your wife would prefer you collect only mini's? :hmmm:

Well, Monday i left at 5:00pm to go pick up 8 more boxes. It was another 12 hour return trip...i had to battle against mother nature once again. I went through blizzards, white outs and HIGH winds and icy roads...there were car pileups, jacknifed trucks and accidents all over the place...a real nightmare  . On the brighter side of things...i picked up another 8 boxes in 1 pick-up and made it home safely  . I finally found an absolutely MINT JVC-838...a box that i don't have in my collection which i've wanted and waited for...and it will be next to impossible to get one in this condition. It is %100 fully functional, and the sound from this thing really cranks! So here's a pic of 1 of the 8 boxes i picked up...the 838.

Congratulations for your successful pick up

I am on the same wavelength with you.

Love this box very much cause of its giant needle meters, clear and straight design

---------------------------------------------

and - never one to hi-jack a meaningful thread -
for some greedy self-serving purpose :-O

but - up there--
or ANYWHERE ???

i would like to buy a pair of M70 speakers :-) :angelic:

thanks gordie -- :-D
-------------------------------------------------------------
the 'beater' m70 reminds me of a lucky story ........ |-) |-)

a bunch of 'the gang' here -
saw me score a FAST ebay BIN for about 50 bucks --!!!
(bout 2 years ago)

the pix were crappy -
and the seller called it a 'parts box'

the plan was to send the tuner board to gluecifer (i think) :-)
and keep the few parts - i needed

when it got here -
it was a complete cosmetic strong 8-
and 100% of everything worked and sounded as good as any m70 ever did

that doesnt often happen :-D :-D :angelic:
