oh yeah...one very good looking box...needs a place to hold an ipod / iphone.

I actually think it's better this way. If we design things 'for' the ipod or iphone, then Iour whole lives will be dictated by the smaller device and right now what we need is to go back to concentrating on the bigger boombox side of things. TDK have got it right. Make a damn fine boombox, big, 3 speakers (hopefully) good sound and killer looks. Remember that the iphone/pod/pad/pid/pud will one day be replaced by something else.

By NOT providing a place for such devices, TDK have made a statement. It's not about how great an ipod is. It's about the longevity of the boombox and all it stands for.

Well done to them!!

Take a look at this view... it looks like there is a place to set an MP3 player, but you still have to run a cord to the side to make the connection.

Oh, I thought that was where the burritos went. :-)

It would be funny if they had a button that slid out a tray, but instead of being a cd tray, it was an actual cup holder.

I was thinking of the classic tech call on the computer cup holder. For those who havent seen it, it is mentioned here:

:breakdance: This thing is looking hot hot hot. 1/8" line in jack for us non Apple ipod people to plug their mp3 players in, RCA inputs and a jack for guitar or microphone :w00t: . A very nice looking, and hopefully sounding boombox revival attempt here from TDK. Hopefully JB-HiFi will be getting these in stock in the not to distant future........

It doesn't say street.
It doesn't say Hip Hop.
It doesn't say Rock or Punk, or rebel.
But it does say Tech and DJ.
I wouldn't kick it off the shelf, especially not the nice one with green leather trim on the handle. :hmmm:

Cheers OSS :afro:

PS the only part i don't love is the handle shape.

Good point. It looks like it might just be 4 simple bolts holding it on though. It could be easy to do a custom handle modification!
