i would say that this one is the nicest looking new box i have seen and from the reviews might just stomp a mud hole in the competition and walk it dry.

Agreed ! Best case scenario, it give the big boys - Sony, JVC, Pioneer, etc, a kick up the backside
into designing and manufacturing a new generation of beautiful-looking, functional modern
boomboxes...these TDK's are just the beginning... :-D

oh yeah...one very good looking box...needs a place to hold an ipod / iphone.

That thing looks great, has the build construction, I bet it sounds great, runs on batteries, has a handle.... :w00t:

But with a cable hanging out the side running to an MP3 player....it's the same pain in the ass as what I deal with with all my radio's with MP3 players hanging loose. It needs Bluetooth or a pocket to put your MP3 player in.

I will say.....BAD ASS ANYWAYS!

The future of Boomboxes is so bright, I gotta wear shades!

That is a beautiful piece of machinery. I will be checking the local electronic stores for a listen. If it sounds as good as it looks I am getting one.

Agree with everyone! Nice piece of kit there.

Definitely the best attempt at a new portable that doesn't try to pretend in was made in 1981 that I've seen.
Looking forward to the inevitable reviews on here.

She's a big'un too from the looks of it.

Rock On.

:agree: Such a modern design you would think they would have thought of that, especially since there's already tons of iPod dock boomboxes on the market already.

I LOVE it, will definitely be On the lookout for this in upcoming months. Love the sleek look, and if the thing sounds like a transistor radio, it will be twice as good as the i931...

It's a good start, though I would like to see more razzle dazzle and less sleek and smooth. But it's certainly a step in the right direction.

Started saving already ! Unsure how much this is likely to go for here in the UK...even if it released here... :hmmm:
Have checked the TDK website nothing on there yet...Someone on the forum must know someone, who knows someone, who
has access to one of these boxes...be keen to see a in depth review. images, videos etc.

I really like this TDK - build quality seems to be on par with top of the line boxes from the 80s. My only wish is that they would add a built-in wi-fi, so I could play MP3s from my computer via boombox the same way I play them on my PS3 now.
And I'm also hoping that Sharp, JVC, Panasonic and Sony would release something similar as well - lets wait for CES! :-D
