Wow thanks guys! I needed some inspiration and all these replies did the job for sure!

I did post in the "wanted" section here and I have a short list in my signature. I'll have to check out the japanese yahoo ads too, thanks!

Like I said, I can't wait for spring to head out to flea markets near me and in NYC.

Thanks!!

SEE That's the spirit....Now about your list....YOU WILL NEVER FIND THOSE RADIOS...THEY ARE ALL GONE AND THERE IS NO HOPE!
                   :w00t:

Gee thanks!

Well, you have to admit, your list has some SERIOUS radios on it. They are absolutely out there, but those won't be cheap. But that's irrelevant. Because if you take you time and just save up the money, you can have anything and everything out there!

Think of how lucky we really are. We don't have to wait for the next model from Sharp or Sony or Lasonic to come out....their already out! You get to pick and choose from their entire catalog all at once. That is SWEET!

Plus....it's pretty tough to read this thread while your avatar has YOU holding one of the greatest radio's of all time!

Your a lucky man to have that radio for sure!

Making rediculous offers on eBay don't hurt either.
I've scored alot of grails that way. Not every day it happens
But if you keep your eyes open for them you will find them.

Well, aint that the truth. The only way I was even able to touch a real Dynasty 959 was to pretend to fix BluFuzzys. Then as for the Conion on your shoulders: I had to literally beg another member to reluctantly give one up by convincing him a terminal relative wanted to feel one as a dying wish, and even then, only after I promised him the box would never be molested. Thank goodness I'm good at keeping some of my extreme projects secret. :w00t: :-O

I think you will have fun at the fleas but hopefully you won't be taking a list of what boombox models to look for. It is just too random when hunting in the wild, but that is part of the fun. :-)

Oh I'll take whatever I can get at flea markets. Clean them up, sell them and save the money for my wish list, lol!!

And yeah, I had been searching for years and years for my Conion. What's funny is I couldn't remember who made that giant radio that I had when I was 18. For the longest time I was convinced it was made by Nippon. So I was searching for a huge Nippon boombox with an alarm, lol! My memory of it was pretty fuzzy, so only when I stumbled across some decent photos of the Conion C-100F I realized it was the box I was searching for. Then it took years before I saw one on eBay that I liked, because it was fully functional and came with the original box and user's manual! Then another miracle was that my friend owed me money, so it all came together like a well choreographed ballet - lol!

Well, there is a pretty large boombox made by Nippon that is silver color and has an alarm. It is a bolt box.

It was the same for me with my Lasonic TRC-920. I was searching and searching and then saw a pictures, then found the name, then bought the radio! Damn our memories fade with time don't they!

Well, I have only seen one C100F in real life at a members house when I bought my 777z from him. They are MASSIVE and I would love to own one. Maybe one day!

There are allot of things in this world I want and I just don't know if I could chunk that kind of money down. But who knows!

Yep, i agree with most of whats been said, however your lucky you live in the States, over here its very slim pickings most the time.
Charity shops hardly ever have any electricals at all, fleas finds are few and far between and ebay prices are ridiculas.
Having said that ive only been in the game a very short amount of time and i have a good half dozen im very happy with.
