I first saw this modern boom box reviewed by Hemiguy (iMT800). I have only spent a few hours with her but I am impressed. I mostly jam hiphop and was surprised by the bass coming out the 5" woofer placed on the side. The nicest thing is the three inputs. A nice addition in a modern boom box. The handle is in the center and can be carried both ways. There are also two handles in the front. On the top of the box is the volume control. It is nice size dial that also acts as the power button that you push down to shut off. The down side is there in no old school out puts to connect two together or Inputs for video. I remember being strapped for cash and always looked for that in a boom box.
As for the sound I would put it clear and crisp. It has it's own EQ so you can adjust for your own music. I tend to leave it flat and use my iPhone app EQu. Bass is nice and not too boomy but can be over taken with deep bass like Eric b and Rakim "Mahogany". Can't be too hard on a five inch woofer  . For the given price it is a very good iPhone boom box. The TDK three speaker is the only other box I think can rival this little box.

Looks nice! Does this have a 5 inch on both sides or just one? I've played with the 2 speaker TDK and didnt care for it. Can't find the 3 speaker version yet. I won't buy it till I hear it that's for sure! I've heard good things about this AL. Might have to check it out.

JB. Yes it has two but one is passive and the other is powered. I will post a small video up soon. For looks I would choose the TDK 3S but on the price I chose the AL iMT810. I know Hemiguy said when he compared them both that the 810 can hang with the TDK. So I guess it is a pocket book choice. But I will try to nab a TDK this fall.
One thing I found is the remote only has 20 ft distance. Any further and it does not work.

Hmmmm :hmmm: ok thanks for the info  As for the 3S version of the TDK I can't wait to find one. In NY I think they have it displayed in a store called J&R Music World. I'll have to take a trip down by Ground Zero to check this out. If I like it, it's coming home with me.

Here is a small video shot from my iPhone. Not great quality but You will notice the distortion or speaker bottoming out when Eric B and Rakim mahogany playing. Not sure what to make of it. This was the only song that this happened to. I am going to have to recheck my EQ settings to make sure I did not have them up too high. I will test some more to night to confirm the speaker noise.

I have found iPod EQ settings to be way over-saturated, for whatever that's worth.
As for the subwoofers, that's weird that one is powered and the other is passive. I thought that a passive woofer required a nearby powered woofer to supply it with air. But those 2 woofers are on opposite sides of the box.

Reli I am going to retest the sound tonight. What I left out was radiator. It is a passive radiator. Not sure why it was designed like that but yes it does need the other to drive it.

Love the way speakers move!!! do the other ones bounce at all? I don't know if you have it or not but look into the Apple App for EQu. It's a serious equalizer with some great features. It even notifies you of clipping should you over eq it!! I have it on my iPad 2 and it's real nice. Check it out if you don't already have it.

I have not ever had mine bottom out.
Be careful with equ app as you can overdrive the out put if you have the preamp setting too high.
Check your settings and make sure you are in safe mode. Or back the volume down on your ipad.
nice vid BTW!!!!

JB- I was using EQu. Not sure what happened. I could have had it on the wrong saved preset. I searched for a while before I found EQu. All other programs were horrible. I am going to retest.
