here is a box that is rarely talked about still its a decent sounding box,, the deck on this box is motorized for the control operation,, i believe that some of these boxes were thought that the motor was bad but i found a few it was not so it was mostly no voltage to the motor when you pressed any of the buttons

Ramon. This deck uses a similar protection system as the M90 -- fusible resistor. So if the belts go, the fusible resistor probably also blew. I know on mine -- replacing the belts alone didn't fix it. Had to replace the fusible resistor too. Too many people are scared of this box due to it's tape deck which is deemed "too complicated" but I personally like the way the deck works. And yes, it is a GREAT sounding machine.

Blah blah blah, too much talking.
Just send it to Norms Electronic Repair service C.O.D. and he will ship it back to you no charge fully repaired and tuned in no more than 24 hours.

We need Norm to post all of his knowledge here.

Ramon. There are 2 motors. 1 for the capstan and 1 for the motor drive that operates the mechanism. Both are 1Ω, 1/2 watt fusibles. They are connected in series with coils so you should be able to locate them easier by looking for the coils. I have some 0-Ω fusibles somewhere around here. Let me know if you want me to send you a couple, provided of course I can find them. It's probably safe to use them as-is, or in series with a 1-watt 1-Ω standard resistor. But first, check to see if they are fried -- they probably are.

ok norm you can send them if you got them ,,the capstan motor works if i turn the wheel to engage play it will play but to turn it off i have to turn the wheel as i press stop ,, i was amusming basicly the same thing but was not sure as i had worked on it and had stopped at that point but because i had other boxes to work on i had to shelved it for a latter time so thanks again for the help as always

yup --i taught him the old ' butter-on-the-lens ' trick :dunce: :nonono:

Normally, I would take that in jest. But this time..... I think I believe you, because if I look close, I think I can actually see some butter smears in those pics.

ok --in rare but lame defense of ramons lack of photo skills  :-D

it was freezing (literally) down here today -
and it looks like his cheapo autofocus camera
did poorly in the indoor light

nope --i have one -- but tis BOTH a cosmetic and functional POS

you ' might can tell' even from his crappy photos that his is SERIOUS MINT
and everything works // sounds great --but the deck
-----------------------

another observation on his poor photos -
is that i think he was too close for the autofocus to kick in -- right ?

Well, MY point and shoot camera has an auto macro feature so I don't have any trouble capturing very close up shots with great clarity with the autofocus. As for mint. Even with the buttered lens, even I could tell with my aging eyes that the cassette door looks suspiciously GONE and there appears to be a row of blems on the top edge. Or is that an ant trail? :hmmm: Hard to tell as there's too much butter along that edge. :w00t:

Oh, and look right below the cassette function keys. A whole slathering of yellow butter. :-O You did a poor job Ira. You're supposed to teach him to slather it on evenly.

OK, let's just call it NEAR mint, shall we? ;-)
