Too bad about the 8000. Really hope this 7000 works out for you. The 7000 is almost the same as the 8000, except for the extra cassette deck. The sound quality is basically the same. Better to get a nice, clean 7000 than a beat-up 8000!

I saw another 8000 today that I'm thinking about, but it was REALLY dusty, like it sat somewhere untouched for years. I need to go back in the daytime and look at it in good light, to see if it is scratched up and ugly under the dust, or just dusty on top and in good shape underneath. I've walked away from a bunch of these in the past couple of years, since I already have a few and don't have room, but I got a new, fast computer and am planning to start selling some soon. (Maybe Henry Tai will sell some for me, too? --we talked about it before.) Unfortunately, I will still face the same problem from Hong Kong than the China guys have: shipping costs! :'-(

UPDATE!

I did not buy it

The guys was lying about the condition of the box, :annoyed: it has numerous of scars and scratch, the VU's is not work, the tape deck is not work, on the both speakers it has some melted marks.
I was offered 35 euros, but he wont move from 50 euros and this is it
I was previously suspicious about the sincerity of the seller when I saw a only one posted picture, captured only by the side. He did not post a picture on the front of the box

Well, that unit can easily fetch 200 euros in good shape.

Hey guys, my last post in this topic was on Nov 22. |-)
Since that seller was lied to me again, I have decided to no longer write in this topic about this subject.
But, your activation of the topic give me the idea to call the guy again to ask whats up with the marantz in the mean time.
Guess what happened, i got the marantz for only 25 euros and because of your activation of the topic, I love you guys
He said that he had lost my phone number and could not find me almost two months
he decide to sell the bomboox to me or any other who will pay 25 euros for it because it desperately needs some cash.
Nobody was interested for the box except me, so that's it.
Now my marantz in general does not look as bad as when I saw it the first time.

Here is the pics:

Melted plastic on the speakers, I do not know if this is normal or not because the speakers have an amplifier inside

On the last two pics you can see the scars, like someone was try to removed dirt or something with scratching with a some sharp object

Radio works, the sound it is very loud and clear, the tape compartment is dead, plastic button cap on the top for dial light/battery check is missing and antenna is broken.
Generally, I am satisfied, he need some work and cleaning. I hope that it will not be anything serious with a tape compartment.
