SLO, that's one of my all time favorite shots of a boombox. You should make a poster out of it and I beet people would buy it! I know I would!ðŸ‘SLO said:

I have never been a fan of DIY boxes, but I gotta say that looks great, and probably the nicest I have seen to datejimmyjimmy19702010 said:Probably not the sort of 'box' you were after but this is My fav: DIY V2.0 with its' new 22 LED VU meters fitted.
Not a classic Boombox (bling free zone) but the sound this thing produces is outstanding!

Very nice, looks a lot like the Panasonic RX5600 I once had only darkerkoleloi said:
I agree about the DYI 2.0, when I saw the "Sony" tag at the bottom I did a double take. I think it looks better than the Diamond Box (not to beat that dead horse).systemaddict said:I have never been a fan of DIY boxes, but I gotta say that looks great, and probably the nicest I have seen to dateI would worry about the exposed woofers though. Thank you, I like sound on 5400/5600 a lot too. Actually what you think as led meter is just light for song search program though.systemaddict said:Very nice, looks a lot like the Panasonic RX5600 I once had only darkerLooks like yours has led's instead of needles, sound on these is great, I like it very much

Oh right ok, hard to tell from your pic really, the Panny I owned had needle vu meters in that location.koleloi said:Thank you, I like sound on 5400/5600 a lot too. Actually what you think as led meter is just light for song search program though.
No, unfortunately it does not have any meter. That's only thing I don't like on that nice RX-5400. The 5600 has two very big nice VU but not as glossy as 5400 overall. Both are lookers thoughsystemaddict said:Oh right ok, hard to tell from your pic really, the Panny I owned had needle vu meters in that location.
So does it not have vu's anywhere on it?
So you have both thenkoleloi said:My second 5600 (first one is for part only), waiting for seller to ship:
