A Boombox-only Traveling Tape! Who's in?

There's a lot more room on the J-card, and while the JVC tapes are clear and would show a sharpie quite well, the Maxells are dark grey and might not show too good.

I already recorded my tracks on both tapes, signed the J-cards, and made the logs... I tooks some pics and vids, too. If I have time later tonight I'll try to post them...

They will definitely go out tomorrow!

So, that was a pessimistic assumption on my part, eh? :no: :thumbsdown:

I tried black and blue fine tip permanent markers on the Maxell shell and it shows up fine. They are not as dark as I thought they were... I signed the tapes, it will look awesome when they are full of ink! :thumbsup:

Yeah-I have lots of music-just getting 2-3 tracks will be challenging but already have 2 good ideas for songs!

I'm thinking there are enough rules already, So, put whatever MUSIC you want on the tape. I'll tell you up front that my three tracks on each tape are kinda funky, like what you might have heard blasting out of my GF-9292 back in the day. :breakdance: :cool:

You can pick tracks you like that you feel somehow compliment what's on the rest of the tape, or change it up completely.

I'm mailing first class within the USA. Technically recorded tapes count as media mail, but for a 2-pack of tapes, there is no real financial benefit. No need to go overboard, I think. No signature requried, no insurance, no delivery confirmation... Just package it well and address it clearly.

Shipping overseas should cost around $7 or so. All similar projects I've been involved with, the only real headache was the Canadian postal service being (sometimes) ultra slow... No Canadians on the list, though...

Hey, chekkitout! Since we're gonna sign the actual cassettes, I made some J-Cards with appropriate cover art... :-D

UPDATE! The project is now officially launched as the Postman is now in possession of the two packages!! Heads up Juan & Ed!!! Also, in keeping with the travelling theme, I slipped a couple of post cards into the packages. Since Juan and Ed are in Florida, though.... The post card is from "somewhere else" LOL!

Also, as an FYI for USA members, My packages were made out of fitted cardboard and weighed just shy of 8 ounces. First Class mail within FLA was $2.41 each.

Okey-doke.... In case you hadn't already noticed, I started separate shipping tracking logs for each set of tapes.

After thinking things over a bit, I think it's best if we keep general conversations about the tapes and projects going in this thread here and only post shipping progress or issues in the other threads.

Now, the big question is....

WHICH TEAM WILL FINISH FIRST!!!!! :-D

I gotta say.... I'm really excited to see how this project goes! I think we're all going to have a lot of fun with this!

Thanks again for the strong support and participation! IMHO, this is (by far) the best web community ever!!!

Ehhhhhhhh, hab auch tolle Musik und kann Kassetten bespielen und zig Radios hab ich auch, warum werde ich dann ausgelassen? :'-(

PS:grob hab ich es verstanden, kanns mir auch einer erläutern was genau ihr vor habt, danke :-D

Leider war schon "Annahmeschluss", aber bin mir sicher es wird wiederholt. ;-)
2 x 2 Kassetten werden rund um die Welt geschickt zu je 7 Mitgliedern, jeder spielt ein paar Songs drauf.
Interessant wird, welche Kassetten zuerst am Ausgangspunkt wieder anlangen. :-D

Im falle dass ich nochmal so etwas organiziere, halte ich automatisch einen platz fuer dich frei. In ordnung? :)

Zum schluss werden die Kassetten digitaliziert und zum download'n geboten. Das projekt ist auch deswegen intressant in dem das wir nur die aufnahmen nur per boomboxes machen. Keine Komponenten-decks duerfen benuetzt werden!
