Just got mine back from my repairer dude on Tuesday. He rebelted it and now it is working beautifully. It's mesmerizing watching those lights go round.

BTW, how loud is it??!!

Ummmm.....yeeahh...neither of my decks work on my clairtone 7980.....and I don't have a handy dandy repairman to bring this monster back to its former glory..... and only one LED works on the rotary display when I press play....
but as far as the volume goes........shheeeeiit!!!!
I've had this bad boy up to 85-90 with a good, crisp, hard-hitting rap song with no distortion....and brain deadening volume.
Id spend a small fortune to get another one near mint..

I love my M90 like it was my soulmate...but the 7980/C100 is that perfect piece of ass that would make me lose half of everything I got.....ya feel me!?!?

Probably not. The volume dial goes 0 to 80% by the time you hit 1/2 way on the dial. Any more is basically distortion that is very fatiguing to listen to.

Yea Glue they all have the same internals except that the C-100f amp is bigger than the C-126 and TC-999. The woofer is at 5.4 ohms in it as well while the smaller brothers have 4 ohms. The belt is in the same location in all three and are a bitch to get to!!

usually when the tape run light stops it almost always because of the belt that goes from the tape drive spindle to the tape run lights is either stretched or broken.

I need to swap the belts in my lower deck as it recently quit working.
But the tape run indicators did work and the are very kool.
if only i could get them to work with my ipod
