Congrats!! That is a steal at that price. I have that exact model and it is a super-beast. Almost seems unfair to call it a boombox.

that is the exact reason the pc 55 is such a stiff competitor to the fh 7, it's a true boombox .

the fh7 runs on ac only . not like either of them ever leave the house  ,but you would need a generator to power the fh7 anywhere outside ,that's where the pc 55 has full advantage .

floyd --that fh7 does have a DC operating set-up-
so you really could rig it to one or 2 of your big tool batteries

The FH7 can take batteries, but you'll need the rarer than BB40 DC battery accessory in order to use batteries. The adapter replaces the power supply on the bottom and takes 12-D batteries and has it's own built in amp.

Oh, and Floyd... if you like the FH7, word has it that the series II sounds better, and the series III sounds even better still.

Right. Can't see anyone would want to do the battery thing unless they were rechargeables. I imagine it would eat them. Plus 12 D cells. 12.

As for color -- both the 2 and 3 series are available in black or silver. Not sure about the series I, all I ever saw on that model is silver.

it would be a great out door stereo if you had a place to plug it in , it would kick ass at out door events like bbq's and such

or a great house box because it is to heavy and awkward to carry to very far . looks cool though
