2 ohm BOSE car woofers - HMMM Would they be too much load?

Well, the BOSE woofers I managed to grab were good but now are hard to find. I also like using good 3.2 OHM drivers or you could find some good JVC M50 speakers. They might work OK & then there are always good car stereo speakers that many members use for theirs. The options are really virtually limitless. I just wanted to prove to the 'nay' crowd that it could be done & that their assumptions are proven wrong. Yes, you can operate your 777 at close to 2 OHMS without issue & YES, the sinks are massive compared to other blasters & Tshorba was going out of his way to prove me worng with his pictures of high-powered COMPOS but that is like comparing apples to oranges & expecting me to accept that as validly proving me wrong which it doesn't.....

Again, great new ideas & the same crowd tries to discredit them, as usual.....

I have in my GF 777 woofers from a hitachi 3D 80, sounds also great but i wish my speakers are white.
I like your work on the GF's

My new subs should be in hopefully tomorrow. So lower the ohm rating = more amp use? Resulting in louder better sound?

In simplistic terms yes, but speaker efficiency is also a factor in that equation to determine acoustic output. The lower the impedance LOAD to an amp circuit the higher the current output for a given voltage applied to the AMP circuit...You probably won't gain a lot of volume but you will increase your BASS output & they will have a lower roll-off point & sound warmer & more like a good set of home speakers vs the LOUD flat sound of most blasters....

I dropped 2 Bose in center last night. Can I use the same 2 for outers as well? Totaling 4 across the board. And add those massive caps on the outers?image.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpg

Looks good! Nice clean install. How's the sound so far? I'm running ALL 4 BOSE woofers @ 2.3 OHMS just like the 1's you have there....no problems....did it on 2 777's so far & both are tested beyond 6 months of normal use, no issues....

BAM!!!!

Nice excursion and clean bass from woofers. I asked because, the set ups don't look like the same 4 speakers are used across. Just hope to gain the mid if I use the same as the outers. You ever see the 767 tweeters? They look like buttons. Considering using the 666 tweeters as replacements. Still have to look and see what they are and if they were to fit.

Yes, I did manage to get 2 sub-bass BOSE woofers with larger dustcaps but the impedance, voice-coil size & woofer are identical. The woofers you have with the smaller dustcaps should be a good full range speaker, as well & I use the same for my outer woofers.....

Take a look:

Phew. I was like "oh crud" I gotta get different outers too. Gonna keep An eye out for more once I get a listen to these. And if all is a go, then I'll swap the 767

Yeah, It's getting harder to find these woofers in good shape now. I avoid the woofers with stains & obvious wear so I have to be very picky so that I get almost new....

I have 4 currently. May need to lift the 2 from the national 😉🔈 perhaps swap with the extra 7s?

If you do scalp them from the Panny they are the sub-bass type with larger dustcaps...You'll need to take out the transformer & center circuit board to remove the woofers in the Panny.....

Few other 2ohm and 4ohm speakers I am looking at. Will likely keep the sharp 1000 with the 4ohm (due to 28 watt amp)

May do these for the 1000 inners and outers

The white cones in the last pic look so fresh bro! I bet they are a good no nonsense woofer, perfect for a blaster....

Uh, I'm not positive but I think the 1000 is the same amp, just different rating system due to advert laws of other countries. In North America it's OK to lie & quote a 100w with no reference but in some other countries it has to list the actual real world RMS rating.....hence 28w @ 4 ohms but at 2.3 OHMS that jumps to about 45w maxium....CHING!!!!!
