1st score of the year. (now with pics)

A guy at work walks past my desk and see's boombox pics on the screensaver. He tells me he's got one of those, a Panny, in his garage and i can have it
A few weeks later i come into work and this Sanyo M9990L (not a panny lol) is sat on the desk with the radio playing. Wow.
Its really dusty but seems to be in good order, the radio works really well, the sounds great, just the deck needs new belts.
The guys really nice and has had this radio since new, early 80's, so theres no way im taking it for nothing. i check he wont regret parting with it and also let him know it could go for as much as £40-£50 on ebay with good timing and patience. I offer £20 and he happily accepts.

Theres 300 people at my work, im thinking about putting up a boomboxes wanted poster.

Hey is it me or does that Sanyo have slots for a carrying strap?

Thanks for comments, i think i saw a pic of a Sanyo with mics in the these slots?, not sure if this model. Could be for strap

The 9990 and many other Sanyo's have mic's as an accessory, the slots are for the brackets.

Man that's a pretty one there. I just won one on eBay and I can't wait for it to come. I love it brauny looks the most. How's it sound? It looks like it sounds like a bass hitter. I can't wait for it to come home along with my Toshiba Wx-1 I scored from Mike Lopez. I'll take a group shot like everybody has been doing!! I work in an office of 600 at a creative media company and with just a few casual conversations I've located one vintage boombox. Of course, I'm still waiting to see it, but "it's silver, it's been in the family for 30 years, I used to make mix tapes with it, and it's in the garage" is a great start.
Co-workers are low hanging friendly fruit and I'm going to start picking it. I'll let you know how it goes...
