The clean up after Enid in 1980, our house was fine, this was next door.

The best part.... we were 80 miles from the coast......

Stay safe Ira.

Nature is a BEAST when it wants to be. Those are some gnarly pictures.

Last week the California Earthquake Advisory board released a warning of the "Probability of a Moderate earthquake" for Ventura, San Diego, San Bernardino, Riverside, Orange, Los Angeles, Kern and Imperial Counties from now through October 4th. This is something they NEVER do! But in recent weeks, we have had hundreds and hundreds of tiny earthquakes, a pattern that it similar to right before other major quakes in the past.

Pick your poison, you want your radio's to fall from the shelves, be swept away in 160mph winds or swapped in sea water?

Ira,

Come up and stay with us until it blows over. Seriously, we got plenty of space, several guest rooms.

You Florida boys stay safe. Ira's collection is useless anyway so no loss there. I will come down and pick up the meager scraps. ;-) No need for anyone to go down afterward. Definitely can get in and out faster than FEMA.

Keep us posted. I have family down there and have yet to hear their decision.

Ira,

Seriously be safe as I experienced 2004 & 2005 when Florida was hit from all sides in those two years. I lived in Miami at the time and witnessed the devastation from Katrina, Frances, Charley and Wilma which caused a water spout that formed behind the condo over the Biscayne Bay and came onshore and the sucked on one side of the condo from the Penthouse down to the 1st. floor unit all their contents. I was listening to the radio and heard the Disc Jockey speaking to someone that needed help and was in the stairwell and when the person said the condos name I knew we got hit because I felt the building tremble a bit..... but didn't think nothing of it boy was I wrong!!

I remember seeing green lightning from Hurricane Charley. Never witnessed anything like that but I remember people in Miami telling me about green lightning I looked at them as they were crazy, well not anymore!!

Ira do you have any family on the west coast of Florida?
oh no this is what I was afraid of!!!!! Juan and his hurricane forecast Never mind inside joke!!!!...... seriously you guys on east coast please be careful we will be praying and if you want to come west we're here please let's keep posting and checking in to let us know you guys are safe 5:00 advisory shows it's gotten a little weaker but is heading over very warm water i pray it stays off the Florida coast

I used to think MI was crap just because of the occasional snow storm. But in reality it's one of the safest places in the country!! No floods, no quakes, no hurricanes, and very few tornados

Be safe Ira
