and the TIME it takes to carefully protect the box with

is packing a hobby  -- like lots of fun :w00t:

You expect it to be packed carefully?? You'd be lucky it comes in a box.

Dead right Shane, I keep all those crappy eggs I get for nix, shove em out into the shed, never know when you need a knob or antenna. Plus sometimes you can swap one for a good old school box if someone wants to "upgrade" lolololololol. sucks to be them.

Ahhhh ok, that's why I missed the concept!
I've paid $10 or so for shipping regularly so it's not a surprise for me.
As my town is technically in the Melbourne metropolitan zone even a large box rarely costs more than $15 in shipping from there.

Even my JC-2000 only cost $11 in postage.

well -- his losses on all the shipping and packing is imho-
not the big conceptual issue :-)

its the idea of listing an $11 BIN on a common/crap box -

thats such a waste of time

After spending the last two days concentrating and deliberating over this thread; attempting to understand the inner machinations of redbenjoe's esoterically exacted epiphany I can't help but feel deliberately taken upon the propensity to the pavement situated amongst the horticulturally propogated accoutrements of ones own residency.

Or in other words, I think I've been taken up the garden path.

When you look at all the garage sale items being sold for $1 or $1.99, it's really no surprise. Why throw out this boombox when you could make $10 on it? For some of these people, this is how they make a living. Going to garage sales and re-selling the stuff on Ebay.

And most people with that many feedbacks have an account with the shipper, including scheduled pickup days. So they don't have to drive anywhere.

When I saw "horticulturally" I thought you were accusing Ira of smoking from the garden... :w00t: :weed:

As a person who used to frequently sell on ebay, I agree that it's not worth the effort.

Although... $10 to that person might mean a lot more than it does to most of us. You seldom ever know the true motiviations behind an item being sold....
