I am doing yet another full overhaul on a Helix HX-4700, this time on the one got from member Fresh Produce.

This radio originally had a clock from the factory, but was long gone by the time the radio got to me. I did see the original in Mac Daddy Freshness' radio when I redid it. So it gave me an idea what to look for.

So, I went on eBay, started looking for clocks. I measured the display window and found a clock that fit exactly.

But I didn't stop there....

Military time and Celsius..? You got me all confused!
Sweet subtle mod dude! :breakdance:
:-D Yeah, us American's don't use either. But I wanted a RED display and it only came in 24 hour and Celsius. No biggie, I wanted it more for the battery gauge!

AND it is super bright, so I can see it in the daylight.

Here are s more pictures of the inside...

BTW, they do make this same clock, same size in a 12 hour and fahrenheit version, but I couldn't find it in red led, only in blue and yellow and I wanted to stick with red for a specific reason that I will share later on.

Nice!!! The temp guage is a nice feature. I would have put the sensor on the amp heatsink so you can monitor your IC's when crankin' it to the max.....

Awesome find dude!!!

Oh, for sure.....I looked up the original listing & this thing is perfect for temp & voltage monitoring. The temp guage goes up to 150C it looks like so yeah, that's perfect for a heatsink monitor.....you can file down the cylinder on the end to a flat blade & drill a hole into the end to mount to the sink, possibly. Would take some elbow grease but what a nice mod to make it even more useful. Also, you can put the voltage leads on any DC circuit you wanted to monitor, not just mains....might be useful in avoiding a cap failure if you know what to look for...

So if your juice is too low or your IC's are too hot, BAM!! You can have that info at your fingertips....
