ira theres some better pictures here of those two boxes you wanted to check out.

my good cameras battery is dead so i had to use the ok older camera.

i dont know about you but i think this bigger than a m70 viking is a hell of a good looking box.
it has good sound too not as good as the m70 or m9998 but not far off

the m70s bigger wierder brother the m80
this box screams eighties futurism
not the most powerful box but good sound and one of the earliest digital tuners on a boombox.
alot of people dont realise it but it does have a tuning nob.

my free m50
i really enjoy this one a lot. great sound
almost as large as a m70 but missing the horsepower. hmmmmm those woofers look like they have some varnish on them of some sort.

i need to recharge my digital slrs battery

this box also wore a yamaha name tag back in the day. imho its a really good if not under appreciated three piece unit.
i cant really say much negative about it except for the horrendous battery cartridge design.

ct900 panasonic one of the first of the platinum units.
i need to pull that grill off and straigten it a bit.
cool sounding boombox. i think it has two ohm speakers with a bit of a different design to them.

like it or lump it pun intended this dawn of the egg classic is quite the performer.
really really excellent sound and cool motorized top that flips up.
excellent twin remote tape decks and a pretty good digital tuner.
dt707 panasonic.

its bad assed last brother the ct680.
at the prices they go for now everyone should have one.
why there is no line out on them is a sad shortcoming tho.

i had a viennna sound moment what can i say

crap photo guys sorry bout that.
my favorite big sounding mini on top of a jvc pc3 that needs some work on the foams .
but i tell you this jvc compo is really really good sounding unit.
i vow to fix it soon.

a candle dressed up to look like a panny model.
surprised this wasnt a case of copycatting

the panny 690
you might think this sounds better with the extra speakers in there but you would be wrong. still a extremely good sounding portable. the edges more rounded off than its brother the 680.

one third more horse power than the sony fh7 and bass in the same league as the kaboom but much more viscious.

my last disco robo needs help.
the loudest boombox of them all really. not the bassiest not the most refined but nothing is as loud i have as this one. really its something you just have to hear to really believe.

sorry again for having to use my old camera today.
this is a gf 6161 mk2. some people have told me its kind of rare. it does not get much love from me but its a nice little box.
that asahi below it is a really good sounding box for its size. its quite loud has a very nice tape deck with dolby and lots of good features.
nice eq and sound that is much better than you might think.

well thats about it for now.

Nice bill, I like the caption on top of each picture.
That cobra 707 is the only egg I really want, doesn't sound right to say it but there it is.

that dt707 is a amazing boombox and it is part of the boombox story without a doubt.
some people might disclude it based on its appearance but....
this a good thing because it truly can be had for cheap.
mine is damn near brand new looking and performing and it was only 25 bucks.
its a great sounding stereo. regardless of shape or size.

:-O $25, the closest I could ever find to that price was about $75 for a truly abused 707. If I could find a decent one locally for $25 I would probably pick it up, I would snap it up quick if it was is excellent condition.

you gotta try craigs list for this model. it shows up pretty often on that list up here. usually fifty bucks . mine actually sat on craigs for almost a week before i got to it.
and it really is in extremely gently used condition

yes ira you are welcome.
that big sony is the sony fh215r.
the bass on it hits like a small home stereo with eight inch woofers and a 25 wpc amp if that makes any sense.
while the kabooms bass is very round the sonys bass is very square and sharp if that makes any sense.
yes this is the sony that had a rechargeable battery pack option.
i have two of these sonys and a fh7 as well.
the bigger sonys have a lot more power. i would say about one third more power. bigger woofers.
they are not however as nicely made as the smaller unit. lower grade plastic on the case and just fit and finish not as good.
the big sonys also have one of the coolest displays of all time.
really great big monsters.

keep trying.
i am really surprised how it seems that in the us there is a lot less wild boomboxes out there to be had.
i mean vancouver is a huge region in terms of size but in terms of population its not so big.

thanks guys.
i am unsure how many more boxes i will be getting in the future.
this could be it. there is a few other things kicking around here tho. a bunch of minis kicking around and three kabooms hiding in the house.
i really am thinking about getting rid of the kabooms lately looking at what they are going for i am thinking it kind of might be time to do just that.
