I can't stop playing with my finally working National Panasonic 5350 which sounds unbelievably powerful  but my choice would be the Crown CSC 980

Yes this is tough one Norm, overall at the moment (as my mind changes every 30 seconds or so) I would have to go with the Toshiba RT-932, decades before its time and wow what a great sounding small/mid sized unit. Combine this with the ease of line in, superb tape deck and stations that just fall in when tuning. It just oozes quality for me.

This is an easy one for me. My collection is tiny due to monetary constraints, so my one keeper might surprise people. It's my Sanyo M9990. It's kinda special to me, has great sound (especially at low to moderate volume), looks totally awesome, and is superbly portable.

This is an old pic from the day I received it from member Llopez. I have since gone through the entire box to bring it to like-new condition.
Great choice. Underrated boomer.

Crap, I dunno :dunce: .......

If I really have to decide on what a boombox IS vs what it COULD BE, I would have to stick with the C100/7980.

I like BIG, flashy, ooooooo-aaahhhhhh, boomboxes. The C100 might not be "hi-fi" but the sound it puts out and the sheer volume is amazing. If any Wheely was built like a C100, then I would say the wheely because I like the combination of colors.

So, the box that IS what it IS, C100. For the box that COULD BE, the Wheely.

My Sharp GF-9000, because it was my 1st.. It has been to the skatepark, graffiti sessions, my college dorm, riding in back seat of my lowrider, and still looks minty being the 2nd owner.. Without a doubt my fave!

I would keep the best of my Universum Supersound 16000. Cause it was my 1st stereo boombox in 1983 and it was with me everyday and everywhere.

Definitely the silver RC-550  .
Not only because it is so rare and basically has no comparable value but because I got it from Peter who became a great friend of mine and kind of was my mentor and lead me through getting my collection together. There is almost no box on my wall for which I didn't ask Peter for advise :-D .
And now he passed on the rarest of the rare to me - his silver 550 (having said he would bury his ashes in it two years ago when I first saw it :w00t: ).
I know what an incredibly nice gesture it was of him - and all he aksed for was one M90 (okay, an M90 is a grail but relatively common after all).
That being said - although it is only with me for three days now, it is already the box that means most to me. :smooch:

Nice words! Thank you Max
