Bummed with the sound 777Z

With Jimmy's pictures for his 767 speaker upgrade I was able to get my Alpines mounted no problem.


The screws I found were just a tad long, simply filing 1/8" off the tip keeps them from poking through the front of the boombox case. Very easy to do and you don't need to hack apart the original wiring or connectors to fit these Alpines.

And the final result is to die for . Sounds and looks worlds better.

Looks great! I remember seeing Jimmy's mod post some time back.
My question is this: Why does it look so nice out in WI right now? I mean, I'm up here in MA freezing my nutz off after digging out from 3 snow storms in 4 days and you're outdoor-blastin'. What's going on here?

Yeah the Gf777 has tons of power it just has **** for factory speakers, looks magnificent Joe.

Ha, it is winter here right now. This thread is from 2014 and I just put the speakers in the summer of 2016. My old thread was in a section that got deleted .

Iv had loads of 777's and currently have 777,767,1000,999,909 & 919 so it's safe to say I know these boxes inside out!
Iv also found the 777 to sound muddy,they are all like it, even the 767 sounds a little better!
However the jap versions sound a lot better, my 909 sounds awesome followed by the 1000 & 999
