Just picked up this nice 1977 Quasar YXP3222PY B&W Yellow cabinet black and white TV.
It is Made in Japan.

Just picked up this nice 1978 Panasonic TR-622C black and white TV.
It is Made in Japan.
Seems like a well built TV. Works well, but need to clean the switches and tuner knobs.

Wow! That's very late for a 405/625 dual standard set, as a matter of interest when did 405 stop in Canada? The last transmissions on 405 in the UK were in 1984 but the newest 405 line set that I previously knew of was built in 1973.
Managed to find this 1976 Toshiba Blackstripe C355C 13" Color TV.
I Bought it at an estate sale in February 2014. i already have a mint red cabinet of this same set, but I said what the heck ! Too rare to pass up !
It is in real nice shape, a bit yellowed ontop because the owner had a 1980's Samsung cable box on it (which I took as well)
The set also came with the pedestal and owners manual.

Here's my 1969 Sony Trinitron model KV-1210U CRT TV. It was one of Sony's first ever Trinitron sets they made. I found this in my local Kijiji Toronto classifieds for $30.00 February 2014. It still works and looks like new ! The picture quality is simply amazing !

There is a really nice and clean late 60's B/W set at a local thrift store, but they want $90. I just can't spend that kind of money on a set. It's a 19 inch.

The TV had a pull/push power/volume knob on the front of the set and if you turned the TV off by pushing in the button, you couldn't operate the TV with the remote. It would blister my dad's ass if we turned the TV off with the button because he would have to get up and walk over and pull the switch.
Next, when you turned the TV on with the remote the TV came on at the MAX volume setting, then you had to click the remote ON/OFF - VOLUME button again to turn it down. You had three volume settings 1) FULL VOLUME 2) MEDIUM VOLUME 3) LOW VOLUME 4)OFF. On Sunday mornings, I used to go out to watch cartoons and every time I turned on the set, M-A-X Volume! Then when I clicked the button the TV made this loud CLICK/CLICK sound as it switched to a lower volume setting and if I pressed the button to many times real fast it would then turn off the TV and I'd have to do it all again. Usually the result was waking up the whole family and getting yelled at!
The channel switcher wasn't any better. There was no "Channel Up / Down". The set turned on starting on channel 2 and then you pushed the channel button to cycle through the channels, 2,4,5,7,9,11,13 and back to 2 again. So if you were channel surfing and you missed your channel you had to go through them all again!

Picked up this set today.

That Panasonic is gorgeous! Now all you need is a Toot-a-loop and a Panapet - both AM shirt pocket radios - to go with it. They're clearly from the same sort of era and perhaps by the same designer:
On that page from the brochure, the Toot-a-loop is marked by its part no. of R-72 and the Panapet by its part no. which was R-70.
Your new TV appears at the other end of the brochure but the shirt pocket radios there were in production all the way from 1969 through to 1976 in the cases of Panapet and Toot-a-loop. In those days, stuff that worked and sold wasn't changed for the sake of change.
