Today at school I saw a guy with a shirt having the Conion C100F on it.
I said "Wow! Awesome shirt, that is the Conion C100F, one of the coolest boomboxes ever made!"

He just looked at me and said "What the heck do you want?!" :sadno:

It is so sad, those guys wear those things without even knowing what they are, I was kiinda sad about that and kinda aggravated.
At least it was not a real C100F and he not knowing what it was  .

True.

Same type of scenario happened to me at school the other day. I saw not one but two kids with a huge boombox on their shirt. Couldn't really make out the model, i wasn't wearing my glasses :-/ All I said was, "Awesome shirt you have, do you like boomboxes?"

All they said was, "No, i just bought the shirt.."

You youngsters are funny  ...... I was at a family party and someone also had a boombox shirt on. I just kept to myself but did point out to my wife what make/model it was  . She just rolled her eyes and gave me one of these ---> :smooch:

Casuals have no idea about different models of blaster; that's the rule.

Until they prove otherwise, assume everyone see's all radios as looking all the same with no discernable differences.

The problem with fashion is it takes little to no thought or effort to wear it and many people don't want to understand why it even is fashionable in the first place.

Rock On.

That's actually kind of sad and funny because my whole family feels that way about my boomboxes, especially my "OLDER" sister and of course my nieces have no clue. :nonono:

kind of like the hipster walking around in joy division t shirts who could not name a single joy division album or song.
back in the early naughts this was a injoke in the vancouver indie scene.

so yeah i would never expect anyone old or young other then a minute sliver of people to know what a conion was.
to be honest i am glad they dont.

As long as we know thats all that matter.

When you wear a shirt with some kind of image on it you're suppose to be making a statement about it, obviously these little dumb punks just think it's cool.

People nowadays just don't know the meaning of Boomboxes.

Top row right one was on ebay some days ago. Palladium, but the seller didn´t mention a model number. There´s lots of AKA´s I bet.

Apropros topic. Two days ago, a youth told me I should replace my JVC-M70 with a iPod dock. Mentioned something about an iHome, but I don't think those even run on batteries, much less a thick stack of "D" cells. I told him how the things was a city legend, a generation of kids congregated around it, mused that it was there when his favorite genre of music was yet-nascent, but he was not phased. Said it did not go loud enough or have enough bass, though the police beg to differ. What can one expect from a yahoo whose idea of old-school urban music is Biggie Smalls and Tupac?
