So again, after I paid for item I sent message asking the seller to please pack using air bubbles...Seller states oh no problem, been doing this for years :hmmm: So I get package today and as soon as I move it I feel it moving around inside  I was ticked, so I went home and started snapping pics, then opened box and wow bright red staring me down  so started to snap more shots... Then put down camera and pulled out red ... Wheww!!! Perfect shape and not a break insight. So I got it all cleaned up. Then I tested the radio 1st... Very nice sound, nothing wrong at all. Then I grabbed my alcohol and qtips and cleaned heads and wheel :-O nice and clean, then I demagnatized the heads, slowly, slowly... Always best to go slowly ;-) then I reach for tape pop it in and hit ff.... Perfect. Then Rew..... Perfect... Then I hit play.. Sound is music to my ears  and this ain't no ordinary deck. It's fully automatic with 15 song APSS and digital display...So I tested the music search and it was working perfect. I am very happy it's working and looking great but this is why I despise shipping. They were asked to wrap with bubble wrap and all they did was put a few peanuts in a box  I can't trust anyone to follow my shipping advise  anyway here are pics....

I'll rather have a box not packed right arriving safely, than a box packed like you asked, then arrive damaged. Can't complain too much when the results are good.

As for peanuts -- my experience is that foam peanuts do an excellent job of protecting -- AS LONG AS there is sufficient peanuts to take up all voids and the box is nice/sturdy and not soft like a pillow. Sometimes, people cheap out and don't fill up the box all the way. Then that's bad news because the item will shift around and might end up not being in the center of the box.

Congrats Bill. Indeed you are lucky. When "peanuts" are not enough it is like no protection at all.

Yeah and worst part was no peanuts under bbx. The boombox was just laying at bottom of box totally unprotected. The positive is its small and lightweight . So I and seller were lucky :-O my whole point for thread is seller did not take any of my suggestions into consideration. He sent this not fully protected and that's why I am upset with the ways sellers treat there profit. Maybe it's just another radio to them, but to us as collectors each one is the last of its kind :angelic:

That's one of the best looking Sears boxes around. Good score, Bill.

Thanks guys  this mini sounds and looks way better than my GE 3-5283 too  plus it's a great feature on a mini having soft touch fully automatic with Music search, plus I didn't even have to replace belts
