I have been trying to use the brackets search, for example (panasonic RX-6400, Technics SA-C05, JVC DC-33L, Denon H-5, kaboom dp200, Panasonic DT75, PANASONIC RX DS10, STRASSER CSD-SR8, AIWA CSD-SR8, Panasonic RX-DT9, panasonic dt680, AIWA CSD-SR6)

and the search doesn't work for me, it brings me to the vintage and manuals magazine so I don't even get to see the actual available items for sales.

How do you search to find what you are looking for ? :-P

Indeed I know about the Portable and boomboxes category, that's the main category I am looking for but sometimes a seller use other categories and I would miss for a particular model I am looking for.

So many questions grasshopper :-)

Here's my secret: Simply type: Panasonic RX. Don't refine your search.

My last couple of 680s were listed in the wrong section and thus went cheap. I've never paid more than $50 for a 680 with remote. I scored one for $11 as the listing read: ' Old Panasonic radio' :-)

There is a 680 listed right now. Due to the popularity of the 680 on the net, the pickers have woken up and are now chasing big money. The RX-C45 is another example of a once cheap model now going for 680 money!

Some of those boxes are very rare, and might appear only once a year on Ebay, if at all. You're better off just searching for "boombox ghettoblaster" and then using qualifiers to eliminate things like bluetooth docks, t-shirts, cellphone, etc.

Umm, why should anybody give away any secrets ? :w00t: It sounds like you´re looking for better tips to get more out from eBay which is reasonable, but this thread doesn´t have too much point. It´s all personal how somebody finds or looks for BBs.

What crazy said, that's why it's a secret!

Remember : "I am searching for a specific Sony model but I dont want to address it publicly because it is extremely hard to find one and I don't want to participate in increasing the price of those gems. "

Or increase the likelyhood another will get it first.

Yes, collectors and BB fans never do that and it doesn´t help you get any additions to the collection. Well, i send my friend links of ones i already have or out of my interest.

I'm having a good run with Sanyo's at the moment.
I'm in Denmark at the moment and this one should be home when I fly back to the UK tomorrow.

I'm excited about the 7830 below! I was the only bidder.

There are only two things you need to know for successful BB searching that'll keep you ahead of the game:

1: Don't tell other people everything you know.

Ebay has so much visibility worldwide it's very hard to find a cosmetically good unit in working order for less than its true worth. I have been looking ebay for a month almost full time and I don't see much deals there.

I saw a working DT680 for $10 at my local online website I'll try to get it. Local deals is the way to go.
