** Your Bassiest Panny? **

Hi Guys,

With the heavy bass style of music I tend to listen to, I prefer the sound of units with a big bass sound combined with nice highs and toned down mids. The vast majority of my small collection of boxes only give you the option of mids and highs or alternatively, highs and mids. :-) Two of my boxes though really buck the trend and provide that satisfying heavy bass sound:

1. National RX-C45 - The bass this little thing produces is ridiculous! Not a super powerful unit but the low to mid volume bass is beautiful. How can tiny speakers in little cabinets produce that nice, heavy sound with little piezos that produce that midi system style of highs?! ;-)

2. Panasonic RX-DT680 - Big sound, big bass - no line in but that's an easy fix. Just scored another fully working RX-DT680 from Ebay this morning for $20 with remote and local pick up!!

Notice in the photos above that the centre cabinet width is exactly the same between both Pannys?!

What's your bassiest Panny?

My Panny Cobra RX-DT707 is the clear winner in my modest collection.
But for low to mid volume listening, I really like the
Sanyo M9990.

When it comes to small to mid-size, the RX-5050 wins in my book. That model can crank out some sound and bass and still sound clean at higher volumes.

Well I'm not sure if this qualifies ,but my Quasar GX-3661 isn't a Panasonic so to speak of,but it was made by Panasonic and it's an a.k.a. of the RX-5600. It is the Bassiest Panasonic made box I have.
It sounds fabulous "imho"…….
