From a local seller who needed room. Most needs some work. But I'm quite ecstatic about my pickups. More work for me -- hooray!

Sony, Japanese Mini. Dual tape decks, clock, graphic equalizer, auxillary feature, TV as well as AM/FM bands, autoreverse, lotsa features for a small mini and I just LOVE the RED color. I won't even have to waste any red paint as it's already done :-D  Anyone have a japanese translater so I don't press the "fire" or "detonate" button without knowing it? :w00t:

Here is a Hitachi that I have been looking for as I always loved the looks of these. This one is dead as a doornail and cosmetics isn't very good which is very typical for Hitachi's which always seem to take more beatings than other boxes. Either the finish weren't designed to hold up as well as other boxes or they get treated like crap.

Here is a huge/heavy bugger of a JVC. Sound is terrific but neither tape or turntable functions are working right now. But cosmetics wise, it's almost mint! Learning to limit my condition vocabulary to be more like Ira. :w00t: I'm very impressed with this one. After playing with this it, I almost feel like throwing my SG-500 into the trash. :-O :w00t:

I don't do cassette much but I DO do CD's and this is a very nice one. Sound is pretty good -- better than the CFS-9000 and more powerful than the CDF-5. Highs are crisp and clear and the bass.... well it tries but I guess there is as much bass as you can probably squeeze out of those teeny Sony APM's. I think this is gonna going on my shelf to take care of CD duties for me. :-D

What a fun day that must have been, nice scores.

I know what you mean about the 500, I practically gave mine away to recover the space it was taking.

Nice... VERY nice! Sorry to hear about the Hitachi tho. :-/

I think you've got a good point tho... Besides getting worn down when it comes to looks, it's hard to find those upper models with working tape decks (I know all three of mine don't work).

Still, it amazes me how cheap those Hitachi's sell for when they're in top physical condition 'cause they're some great sounding boxes.

I didn't measure the sony but my guess is that it's nearly 30" long. It can get quite loud. The sound is pretty good. The Sony APM speakers can rock pretty good for their size. I think the amp is more than those little speakers can handle though. Also, if you have any of the modern 3-piecers, you know most are pretty light boxes. This is NOT one of those light empty boxes as it's a pretty heavy bugger.

As for the Red Sony -- it's suprisingly good sounding. All I can say is that no-one would be disappointed with it. When you see something small like these, you don't expect much. But all I can say is it can get suprisingly loud. It is not going to blow you away with it's bass, but what mini with 3, maybe 3.5 inch speakers are gonna do that?

i dream about a big one from sony resembling the red one...

The guy's got like 20 more for sale. It's just that these are what I wanted. I'm working to see if he wants to let another 4 or so go that I've been eyeing for what I think would be decent prices.
